Spanish HBO series from one of my favourite Spanish directors Álex de la Iglesia and his writing partner Jorge Guerricaechevarría and I was expecting something crazy and within 10 minutes a man shoots up a bank, gets shot numerous times but performs the robbery and escapes before dying as he gives the loot to its intended possesor and then a cow gives birth to a human baby and I was completely in. And then it gets crazier and crazier after that until it's completely insane final episode. Reminds me a bit of Lovecraft Country and there's a bit of Lovecraft about it but it's also very religious and full of religious conspiracy including a meeting with the devil (of course!). Also has a couple of great nude scenes from the usually reluctant Megan Montaner, so I can't recommend this series enough. Bring on series 2...
