Class Act

1990s crime caper show that the British do in their sleep where they get some well known actor (in this case, Joanna Lumley) and they have a weekly scam they run with their cohorts. Here, Lumley goes to jail thanks to her now dead husband where she meets an Australian cat burglar (Nadine Garner in a rare international role) and after she leave prison broke, they team up reluctantly along with a sleazy journalist (John Bowe) so that she can get by. Lots of capers, well 14 episodes worth that's both fun and everything that you have seen before, fairly watchable, but nothing memorable. Speaking of memorable, I remember there been a stink about Nadine Garner's character being too Australian with a broader accent and lots of Aussie slang, but watching it, Nadine speaks exactly as she usually does and yeah, there's a bit of slang, G'day gets a greater than usual run, but still nothing overbearing. I just think they were looking for something easy to criticise. What else is new...
