Heartless

My first capping of a non-English speaking TV series with today's update. Heartless is a Danish teen drama only 5 episodes long, which felt like it only got started when the series ended. Basically, a teenage brother Sebastian and sister Sofie (Sebastian Jessen and Julie Zangenberg, who looks like the other Mara sister) who can only survive by sucking energy from humans and they do this by 'kissing', but it leaves the human 'victim' exhausted or if they hold on too long, it immolates the 'victim'. They find out that their mother who died recently who had something in common with a prodigious private school, so they enrol as they figure out why the place is important with their family. Also, the headmaster of the school and his three daughters called 'The Untouchables' because they have the run of the school have their own secret which runs in opposition to the siblings. Then one of the daughters Emilie (Julie Christiansen) falls for Sofie and both their secrets are at risk. There's also flashback to the 1600s where all this began involving witches and curses and such. Not a bad little show, feels a bit like the Vampire Diaries (not that I really watched that show to make a true comparison) but a little more sexual (that scene featuring Frederikke Dahl Hansen below would never happen on American network TV and was quite a surprise), with some casual nudity as well, but I could easily see this series been adapted for the US. Looks like series 2 is not far away, hopefully more than 5 episodes this time.
