The thing about capping is after a while you have a stockpile of stuff that some day you'll eventually get to, sometimes years later. Every once in a while I look at my stockpile and think, one day I'll get around to it. Well, here's one of those days. Since early 2013, I started recording every episode of the Home and Away: The Early years replay, which by the time I started, it was about mid-1991 so I'd missed the first 3 years. Ever since I've been slowly stripping episodes every few weeks, but until now, all I've been doing in stockpiling videos. Well, I was going to start releasing these when Home and Away finished for the year, but I was distracted most of December, so finally, I'll start to release videos from mid-1991 onwards.

As of yesterday, The Early Years is at about the 2nd half of 1993, so there's over 2 years of episodes I'm about to release. I will say that there are a significant less amount of videos than what I'd usually release. There isn't a lot of bikini/bathing suit action although there's probably more beach action strangely enough, but with the arrival of Lisa Lackey (and a guest stint from Sofie Formica in a rare bit of acting), there has been a slight increase in the sexy stuff. Also, it is currently at the early Melissa George episodes and her character's a bit of grump. I thought she was some sunny character... And have a look at the fashions. You thought the 1980s were bad, seemed to be a lot of hessian sack action in the 1990s, I'd totally forgotten how bad fashion was. Looking at Tina, my first thoughts are of Girlfriend, the all-girl band from the same period. I think I blocked it out how drab it was...

Today, I start with the first lot of videos of Tina Thomsen, who played Finlay/Fin from late 1991 onwards, so I shouldn't have missed any of appearance on the show as I can remember going through her first episodes. Looks like she sticks around for a while too. Gorgeous girl...

More Home and Away from the early 90s, this time with Dee Smart's appearance on the show, well at least 90% of it because when I started capping the show, she was only a guest star and was later bumped up to regular, so I couldn't have missed too much. Capping this stuff of Dee Smart makes me think that there really should be more stuff of her on the website. I'll have to look into that...

More old Home and Away videos, this time of Lisa Lackey who joined late 1992 and with her arriving there has been a fairly significant increase of beach/bathing suit scenes. Seem to remember she was a pretty big deal during her time on Home and Away and then went to Hollywood as Elizabeth Lackey and did, well OK. Haven't seen a lot of her post-Home and Away stuff although I remember her in Mulholland Drive (already jam-packed with Aussies including Home and Away cast mate Melissa George) as the actress they auditioned but couldn't afford. She was also in Heroes for a fair bit back as Lisa Lackey. She also did a nude scene in something, I think it was that terrible sitcom Rude Awakenings I remember watching a few episodes of, possibly only for the nudity, oh and Sherilyn Fenn, but I don't remember her nude scene and have only seen pics of it. I'll have to look for it...

There's a video at the end also featuring Laura Vazquez that I got another version of because the last few seconds were a fairly badly pixelated, enough for me to redo it, well only because is was a bathing suit scene. It just had to happen then, didn't it.

Always got a laugh out Emily Symons' character's name, Marilyn Chambers. Surely, that's the reason why the character was named. Must've been fun when head of drama John Holmes (this is actually true, not really an uncommon name) entered the room. I'm just amusing myself now...

More Home and Away from the 90s with this update being the last with videos from the regulars on the show. There will be an upcoming update with various guest stars. Also, this update contains another video of Lisa Lackey from an episode that aired after her series was posted. Sadly, it's on a two week hiatus for the need to replay the Australian Open. On the digital channel...

Funnily enough most of the episode featuring Rebekah Elmaloglou were when her character was pregnant, so daggy dresses was all she wore. So, not a lot of her. Both Laura Vazquez and Melissa George (as iconic character Angel) have only just joined the show. Melissa George's character is so surly in the first few weeks that I was wondering if this bubbly girl she turned out to be actually happened, but she's lightened up a bit in recent episodes.

First of the guest star postings, this one being of television host Sofie Formica, somewhat big time in the 90s, who turns up for a while playing Lisa Lackey's sister. Didn't realise Sofie had ever acted and this was her first time out apparently, with only other acting in one of those Australian made Jackie Chan movies, First Strike and bafflingly that highly embarrassing Murder, She Wrote Down Under episode which I don't remember her being in, but it's just a complete write-off and just racist, even against white people... Sofie's not bad here in her small stint, stirring up trouble and heading down the beach, makes me think she could've done more acting. Maybe she still can.
