Luke's Kingdom

1976 Australian drama about a man who comes out to Australia during colonial times and tries to make his way despite much conflict. Thought it was a good series, quite ugly at times (one episode about the slaughter of Aborigines was a tough watch), but a well made series with a lot of the best known Australian actors at the time. And quite a bit of flimsy dress work throughout as you'll see below.
