The Secret Life of Us

Hmmm... Series 2 gets off to a bad start with an annoying love triangle dominating the first 7-8 episodes. Then there was another relationship that dragged on in the middle. Then Joel Edgerton left, who was one of the better characters. So, series 2 was more miss than hit. Nice to see Kestie Morassi and Anne Lise Phillips turn up for a few episodes each, sadly Kestie's character barely registered. Abi Tucker didn't seem to have much to do. And the new guy, Michael Dorman, is taking a while to settle in, so to help, they give him epilepsy. Bah, a pretty disappointing series on the whole, nowhere near the class of the first season.

A nice surprise was some decent bikini scenes from Eliza Szonert. Didn't expect that :)

Series 3 has gotten off to a better start, but it loses Claudia Karvan early on, so I wonder if the show survives her departure. Loving the burgeoning lesbian stuff with Abi Tucker and Nina Liu, even though that would seem bizarre that someone who lost a boyfriend who came out would herself turn gay...

Taken me 6 months to watch series 3 (with a 4 month break). Gotta admit this series is a vast improvement of series 2, but the signs that it was coming to an end are well and truly there. Probably should have ended at the end of this series as it finished on a high note with most of the cast still around (even as only guests). Mass exodus at the end of this series.

This is part 1 of the update with the original main cast featured here (well except for Abi Tucker, she'll be in the next update on Sunday). Not a lot from this part of the update, but Sibylla Budd spends the majority of the series braless, which I never noticed before, but most welcome. And Sibylla and Claudia only swim together once throughout the entire series (mainly because Claudia only appears in 9 episodes).

Can't wait to see how it all went wrong in series 4...
