Syd2030

Australian web series time with today's entry being the 2012 Sydney law school drama/soap Syd2030. Basically at the start of a new year, Bridget Knox (Tatjana Alexis) arrives back in town after spending some time away after the suicide of her brother. She left Cameron (Abe Mitchell) behind and he is now with the law school president Lara (Laura Benson), but of course he still pines for her. Also along for the ride is man-eater Frankie (Sophie Luck) who gets herself into trouble and Leo (George Xanthis). It's a very scratchy series, plagued by amateurish mistakes and clichéd writing but is still fairly watchable and the acting and characters are alright. Good to see Sophie Luck from Blue Water High in something bigger than a blink and you'll miss role and of course she has a scene with a surfboard (no surfing though).

There is a second series of Syd2030 that I'm currently working through, it's pretty much more of the same basic plot but with a couple of relationship changes. The quality of the below videos isn't the best, showing it's age and how much digital video and streaming have improved in 4 years. Sadly as it's an online show, there probably won't be a better quality version.

Series 2 of this Australian web series continues the next year with the same relationships, but with tensions rising in those relationships. But old relationship still haunt all of them. Still clunky as hell and the plotting is at times pretty laughable and at least 2 plot strands end embarrassingly. It's not a great series, but it's soapy enough to be watchable, so at least it has that. Plus good looking actors...
