Weeds
Came across a honey pot of Weeds episodes, a show I'd never seen before and thought about maybe capping it and decided against it, only to realise I was two series into the show when I made that decision. Damn it! Anyway, it's a pretty easy show to watch with quick 25-30 minutes episodes and fairly fast moviing through various plots. Plus a little bit of sex and nudity is a welcome bonus particularly when I found out Brooke Langton did an ultra-brief nude scene I did not know about.
Another series of Weeds down and finally some decent nudity from Mary-Louise Parker (there was a brief bum scene in the previous series). Show's taken a dramatic turn with more of a focus on Mexican cartel stuff which is a world away from where it started even if it seems like a logical step after how series 3 ends.
Also done some collages from this series and the previous one that I never got around to previously.
Final series of Weeds and basically ends in a whimper, clearly going one season too long just to finish the unnecessary cliffhanger of series 7. The final double episode taking place 7-8 years later is just rubbish, basically everyone turns out super successful and has no conflict, it's just everyone getting a happy ending. Like Dexter, Weeds was a pretty watchable show and at 25 minute episodes and with Mary-Louise Parker sexing up the show, even easier to watch. It wasn't without it issues of course, some characters just hang around for so long that they just become part of the furniture even though they add little to the show. I mean Elizabeth Perkins' character and her family just got in the way for at least 2 series before they disappeared without trace (bafflingly Perkins didn't turn up in the finale but the character of her husband did). And why was Doug with the family the entire 8 series? Anyway, the show was pretty watchable for the first seven series, shame the 8th series felt unnecessary.
