Update for 27 October...

I've been busy accumulating stuff for the Spanish update, so I haven't been as busy in releasing stuff, so just a small update for today. Still not much around for capping from international/Australian films, although there's a bit off the TV (which I'm now up-to-date). I've got the first 4 episodes from series 2 of Californication just about done and a new series of Satisfaction begins in a month, plus I redoing the entire first series of Satisfaction in between everything else (they should start coming out soon also).

21 is a solid, entertaining film about a maths genius who is recruited into a group who are proficient in counting cards. The Midnight Meat Train is a very good horror film based on an excellent short story by Clive Barker about a photographer on the verge of a big break who discovers a creepy looking man who is killing people on late night trains, but the reason is even more shocking. Rats and Cats is an Australian comedy from the team that made the excellent TV show Wilfred (second series coming soon!), about a journalist who does a 'Where Are They Now?' artcile and finds a fallen star who has disappeared into obscurity, but finds that his new life is much more interesting. An OK film that is in a similar style to Wilfred, but not quite as good.

Update for 12 October...

At the moment, it seems as though I'm doing a film update one week and a television update the next. Ah well, at least I'm still getting an update out a week. I'm also still ahead of the game, which means I can do the week on week off updates, plus I can, well indulge in another Spanish update over the next few weeks. And I've got plenty of Spanish stuff waiting for me to cap...

First up is Smother, another film with Diane Keaton playing the mother from hell (how many's that in the last few years?) and none of them are any good. But, the always seem to have some hot actress getting down to her underwear (thankfully!), and this time it's Liv Tyler who supplies. Other than that, don't bother.

Stuck is a typical Stuart Gordon film, he who made the first 2 Re-Animator films (and a new one on the way apparently) with a sick sense of humour (one which I love) and a nice smattering of weird gore. Gordon's films have been a bit more dramatic lately and Stuck is no exception as it's about a nurse (Mena Suvari) who driving home after a night of drinking and drugs, hits a newly homeless man (Stephen Rea, in what can only be described as the strangest role ever). The nurse panics and drives home, with a dying homeless man still stuck in the windscreen. What happens after that can only happen in a Stuart Gordon film, so it's worth a look (even though I didn't like his last film Edmond). And Mena Suvari gets naked again, niiice....

Whisper is an OK thriller about a group of career crims who kidnap a kid, except there's one problem, the kid has the ability to control people and animals and he's about to cause a little havoc. A bit of nod to 'The Omen' (well, a little more than a bit...), but there are definitely some moments in this film and Sarah Wayne Callies does an amazing job covering up her body in one scene, damn it.

All Hat is a sort of modern Western set in Canada (how often does that happen?) about a fallen son who comes home to help stop a bunch of horse owners from taking over the area. It's OK, but I prefer Westerns with gunfighters and darker shades of grey.

I've been sitting on Love is the Drug for a while, it's been out here for about 18 months, I just didn't think much about it, and well, I struggled through this story about a shy boy who befriends the cool kids including the girl he likes, mainly because he can get them drugs from his workplace. Of course, it turns into a melodrama about the perils of drugs and when it involves mostly unlikeable characters, who cares honestly? Has a couple of hot chicks in it in Lizzy Caplan and Jenny Wade, who wear quite noticable nipple patches, but other than that, it's pretty boring.

The Tattooist is a New Zealand made US thriller about a certain type of Maori tattoo tool that is haunted (yeah I know, but it's not as bad as you think) and is stolen by a cocksure US tattoo artist who gets cut by it and then causes the death of every person he tattoos, which may include a Maori girl he's taken a shine too (the gorgeous Mia Blake) if he doesn't find the cause. Once you get over the massive stretch of a haunted tattoo tool, this film is an enjoyable thriller, but nothing special.

Finally, I've redone some caps from the film XX/XY which stars Australian actress Maya Stange, who seems to have disappeared off the face the Earth, except she turned up in an episode of Burn Notice recently, which was quite a shock when I saw her. Hope she gets more work in the future. Also, hasn't Mark Ruffalo come a long way since this film.

As I said above, I'm ahead of the game with nothing new unless it gets released soon. I'll have another Spanish update on the way and I'll introduce you some more hot Spanish actresses. Also have a little bit of TV stuff including the first series of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, some more The Strip which is possibly the worst show on Aussie TV currently, but at least it is sleazily bad (how many times have characters openly perved on other characters? Or cameraman focusing on random women's arses :D) and maybe some other things.
