Emma Hamilton in The Cold Light Of Day

A quick update today from the 2012 US/Spanish thriller The Cold LIght Of Day which is a preposterous thriller about a Wall Street trader (Henry Cavill) who tries to find his family in Spain when they are taken from a boat all because of dealings (and a suitcase) his father (Bruce Willis) has. Emma Hamilton is briefly in it as the girlfriend of Henry Cavill's character's brother who ends up being kidnapped. Movie also has Veronica Echegui too which made it a little more bearable above some stale car chases and a plot that makes little to no sense.

I see that Channel 10 are increasing the promotion for that Princess Mary telemovie starring Emma, so that must be airing soon. There's more stuff featuring Emma (including nude scenes) from The Tudors below.

Sometimes I just get mad ideas for this site and this update is very much that. Have no interest in Farscape as a show, but I've seen a few caps and videos around and thought there might be something here. 20 Bluray discs later (I didn't buy it if you're wondering) and suddenly I'm starting to flick through 88 episodes of the show. So, series 1 is done and there isn't that much, it isn't that type of show, but there's some interesting stuff at times. A couple of bottom scenes early on from Virginia Hey and some other sexy stuff. Technically this show is an Australian/US co-production filmed in Sydney with Channel 9's fingerprints all over it, but I don't remember this show ever getting much of a prime time showing in Australia, lots of midnight showings though. Today is part 1 of this update featuring the regulars, well Gigi Edgley doesn't come into the show until episode 15. Tomorrow's update will be of the guest stars. Lots of makeup and add-ons...

Sadly, the quality of the Blurays is not great, basically looks like an upscale of the DVDs, but it does look better if you watch in SD. Just looks lazy to be honest.

The rest of the videos from the first season of Farscape. Not a lot and plenty of make-up, but there's some good stuff. I particularly like Natalie Mendoza, who we should've seen from over time. Also nice to see Tina Thomsen in a rare role outside of Home and Away.

Rachael Blake in Melody

Still going with the movies, today's series is of all things, a Belgian/French movie, but is for the most part in English, well mostly when Rachael is in the scene. Rachael Blake plays a woman who wants a baby but can't because she had cancer, so she decides on surrogacy and this comes in the form of Melody (Lucie Debay), an unemployed and practically homeless woman desperate for money to start her own hairdressing salon. The woman sets strict conditions and even puts Melody up in her house to keep her close, but not all goes to plan for both women (as is usually the case). Not a bad movie, at least it's not another try-hard psychological thriller that usually happens around the issue of surrogacy. Rachael always seems to play austere women like she did in Sleeping Beauty and My Mistress and it's the same again in Melody.

Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth

Just a quick update today from the 1998 British movie, Elizabeth featuring Cate Blanchett who's pretty good here in her break out role (I keep thinking she won an Oscar for this role, but she didn't...). The movie itself sits in that place that I loathe, stories about royalty. Can't stand them, even if they are good, Elizabeth survives by it's good performances particularly by Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush and Vincent Cassel is a bit of fun as a cross-dressing French prince, but gets a little hokey at times especially the religious stuff involving Daniel Craig's character and the stuff with Elizabeth's sister was all a bit silly. Otherwise, if you're into this kind of movie, you'd probably like Elizabeth.

Margot Robbie in Z For Zachariah

When I started this section, thought it would be more TV focused, but the last 6 series have been from movies including today's update from new release Z For Zachariah. Not a bad movie either, basically a two hander between Margot Robbie and Chiwetel Ejiofor with a small appearance from Chris Pine living in the aftermath of an undisclosed disaster that has wiped out pretty much everyone.

Catherine Sutherland in The Cell

Here's an obscure one because if this stands for one thing...

Don't know a lot about Catherine, but apparently she was a Power Ranger very early on and The Cell seems to be the last thing she's done. Not the most glamourous of roles in The Cell playing the only one of the killer's victims who we see go through what the killer does to his victims, so it's all death and corpse interference and according to the special features, it was all rather unpleasant to do (who would've thought...). Anyway, there was two different versions of The Cell, the US theatrical version which severely cuts the flesh-hanging and masturbation scene, but does have one shot different and the uncut director's cut which includes the scene as it was intended (over 2 minutes longer than the theatrical cut). I've also included a deleted scene which features Catherine before she is drowned.
