Chantelle Barry in The House That Jack Built, Kylie Travis in Eyes Of The Beholder

There's not much new stuff to cap for this section of the site at the moment and a while back I was planning to go through a bunch of DVDs and other sources with Australian actresses I had but got distracted so here I am finally getting around to doing it.

It took me a while to track down an affordable copy of the hard-to-find The House That Jack Built, a terrible 2009 horror movie with a cameo from Joe Mantegna the only thing worth noting and he isn't needed. Former Australian Popstar contestant Chantelle Barry, who was dumped from the show after stealing from, of all people Sophie Monk, has the main female role in the movie but it isn't much of role. She does has a lengthy sexy scene where she 'nude' but covered up just enough you don't really see anything which is disappointing. Better than nothing, I s'pose.

Being looking for movies with Chantelle for a while but others she's done are even harder to find. Her first movie was a South African action thriller called The Company You Keep, which has never been released except for possibly some cable release somewhere according to the director on his Facebook page. He promised to finally get it released but it's years later and nothing. Both in the trailer and in a widely published pic, it looks like Chantelle has a nude scene in the movie so it's definitely of interest for this site. Her next movie, a cheap American sleazefest called Punish The Wicked has also never been released and seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. I've seen another little seen US movie she made, Call Back, where she plays a lesbian kidnapper and has a few girl-girl kissing and underwear scenes but I can't find the copy I had, so I might have to get the DVD. I remember the movie had a deliberate breast slip scene from the lead actress that was strangely censored, so it was obvious you weren't going to see much in the rest of the movie. She was recently in her first Australian movie, Me And My Left Brain, where she played the female lead but from a quick flick through, it is a pretty mild movie. Need to get those impossible to find movies...

The other release is from the 1992 thriller Eyes Of The Beholder, which was never released on DVD as far as I can tell but I found a laserdisc rip (of all things), so it's fairly good quality despite the size. The movie is pretty forgettable, a cheap looking thriller set in a mansion during a violent storm where an escaped killer gets revenge on his doctor and those with him. Australian actress Kylie Travis turns up as the trophy wife of lawyer played by of all people, former Australian Bond George Lazenby and has an unnecessary but most welcome nude scene where she attempts to placate the crazy killer. She doesn't even bother with an American accent, so you can probably guess why she was cast. Kylie had a brief Hollywood career, most notably starred in the prime time soap Models Inc. and the nifty time travel thriller Retroactive and then quit acting at the turn of the millennium. I can't think of any other movies/TV show worth capping with her in it.
