Update for 30 June...

I have so much stuff I'm never going to get around to, that I really should just put out whatever's in the Bargain Basement. The Boogie Woogie update had laid dormant for ages before yesterday's release. This one has been around a while as well. And I can't be stuffed making collages from it, so here's a few HD videos from the film The Thaw. One of those films where Val Kilmer turns up for a couple of days, get his cheque and goes home waiting for the next one.

In fact, they're making the next straight-to-shelf Val Kilmer epic in my backyard right now. It'll be available next week...

Update for 29 June...

Being a while since I started this update, back in September I think, so it's about time to release it.

Let me see if I can remember. Boogie Woogie is an ensemble drama set in the art world in London. A famous painting titled Boogie Woogie is about to be up for sale. It is a much wanted piece and two prestigious art dealers Art Spindle (Danny Huston) and Bob Macclestone (Stellan Skarsgård) are amongst those vying for it. Meanwhile, Art's assistant Beth (Heather Graham) is spreading her wings and about to start her own gallery. Her job is to be taken over by Paige (Amanda Seyfried). Bob's wife Jean (Gillian Anderson) is miserable in marriage and lusts after the next big thing Jo Richards (Jack Huston), whose going after Beth. Beth is also looking for someone to highlight her first show and finds Elaine (Jaime Winstone), who is a video artist who documents her life particularly her relationship with Joany (Meredith Ostrom) and someone who wants to help her get her first break Dewey (Alan Cumming). Or something like that. I can't remember it all. Don't remember being a big fan of the film either, not helped by my loathing of both the pretensious art world and ensemble drama (much pronounced on this site). But I keep getting attracted to them, probably because there's always pretty girls in them. I also remember there being an attempt at a Robert Altman style structure, but it never gets that good. Ah well...

Review of Sleeping Beauty...

Update for 23/6 is below review.

Saw Sleeping Beauty today starring Emily Browning, who dominates the screen, barely ever off screen throughout. It is an extremely arty film, delicately paced, at times fascinating, at times disturbing, but as a whole, it is disappointing. Feels a bit like Eyes Wide Shut, particularly the 'working' scenes. Emily Browning's character is a very vacant person, she is distant from her friends, she waves to faceless people and is obsessed with making money, keeping two jobs and doing some scientific research. She's not the most interesting person, she's also very callous to people close to her.

Anyway, here's a blow by blow description of Emily's sexy scenes in the film, which contains extensive spoilers, so if you're planning on watching, be warned. I may have missed minor details, but the following is as accurate as possible.

- After a hard day, Emily's character, Lucy, goes to a bar and is picked up by a woman (played by Ivy Mak) who offers her cocaine, they both snort it in the toilets. Lucy joins the woman's group which has two men (played by Joel Tobeck and Nathan Page). Lucy says she is going to fuck one of the men (or the other way around, not sure), and a game of coin toss ensues as to who she will fuck (Joel Tobeck's character), when she will fuck them (today or in a year, today wins) and exactly when they will fuck (now or in 5 hours, now wins). Scene cuts there, we see no more.

- In need of some money, Lucy answers an ad in a university paper. She goes to the interview and is greeted by a man, Thomas (played by Eden Falk). She then enters an office and meets Clara (played by Rachael Blake). After talk of her job, which will include providing 'silver service' waiting in a state of undress and remarking of her unique beauty, Lucy is told that she will not be penetrated and that her vagina is a temple, to which Lucy replies, 'My vagina is not a temple'. Lucy is then asked to strip to her underwear. Thomas enters the offices and joins Clara in giving her the once over of her flaws and habits (this part can be seen on the IMDB page for Sleeping Beauty). Lucy is told that her 'name' will be Sara.

- Lucy gets a rather painful looking bikini wax. We see her bottomless, but don't see anything.

- Lucy goes to her first job at a mansion and is greeted by Sophie (played by Mirrah Foulkes) who tell her to get into her underwear and put on lipstick of the colour of her labia. Lucy strips down to bra and panties with stockings and suspenders, but just puts on a random shade of lipstick. Sophie admonishes her, check her labia through her panties and applies the correct colour. Sophie takes off her coat to reveal her outfit, a bra like garment with the cups cut out to reveal her breasts and panties with stockings and suspenders. Later it is revealed that the panties have the bottom cut out to reveal her bum. Sophie takes Lucy to the kitchen to meet the other waitresses (about 5-6 others) who are all wearing the same outfit and look similar in appearance to Sophie. They all go to the dining room where Sophie announces what the guests are having and Lucy pours a drink for all the guests. Later, they resign to a smoking room (I assume) where two of the waitresses are on the ground, hunched over revealing their bum to all while covering their vaginas with their hands. Lucy (still in her underwear) provides further drinks and ends with Lucy being deliberately tripped by one of the guests smashing the bottle(s) she is holding. Lucy apologises to Sophie, but Sophie congratulates her, gives her some money and tells her she is not needed anymore.

- Lucy goes to her next job and is met by someone (I'm not sure who, could be Mansion Girl played by Lizzie Schebesta). Lucy does exactly as she did in the first job in regards to underwear and lipstick. The woman she is with briefly disrobes to reveal the same waitress outfit as in first job and we briefly see her breasts.

- Lucy goes to a bar (possibly the same one as before) and is chatted up by a man (played by Justin Smith). Lucy hints at what is between he legs and slightly hikes up her dress and opens her legs (which we do not see). Lucy then says that she would like to suck his cock. The man yells 'Hallelujah'. Scene ends.

- Lucy is offered a another job, but this one is different. She is driven to Clara's mansion somewhere far flung and greeted by Clara and told to have a shower, but not to get her hair wet and to put on a gown afterwards (we do not see Lucy take the shower). Lucy comes out and asked about her health and then is told to drink some tea that will make her sleep for a lengthy period of time. We next see Lucy sleeping to the point of comatose, completely naked, but under covers in bed. An elderly man enters with Clara and the man tells a lengthy story about a short story he just re-read about a man wanting to 'live' and he confides that he feels the same way and is shamed by this. Clara says there's no shame here and offers Lucy to him, but no penetration. The man strips naked and joins Lucy in the bed, he pulls back the blanket and reveals Lucy, who is covering her breasts with her arm. He pulls back her arm to see her left breast, then he puts Lucy onto her stomach and pulls back the blanket to reveal the top of her bum.

- Later that night, Lucy is sleeping in her bed naked (but under covers). She sits up in bed revealing her breasts. Then she gets of of bed and he continue to see her breasts and then her bum as she goes to a chair and puts on a pair of panties, then gets back into bed.

- Lucy gets another job at Clara's mansion. Same as before, Lucy is comatose, naked under covers, and another elderly man (played by Paul Cox stalwart Chris Haywood) enters, given the spiel about no penetration, to which he replies that he can't 'get it up' unless he has a shitload of Viagra and has someone stick a finger up his bum. He goes over to Lucy and pulls back the covers and she is lying on her back and we see full frontal nudity. He climbs atop her saying various abuse and what he wants to do to her. He gets his cigarette and looks as though he burns her somewhere in the back of her neck. He then puts his fingers into mouth and down her throat. The entire time the man is on Lucy, we see her right breast.

- Lucy gets a call from her (seemingly only) friend Birdmann (played by Ewen Leslie) who is dying, most likely from his problem with alcohol. She goes to his place and starts crying at the sight of him. She unbuttons her blouse, revealing her breasts, takes it off and gets into bed with him and he holds her.

- Lucy goes to her third job at Clara's mansion, same applies, Lucy is comatose, naked under covers and yet another elderly man (played by Hugh Keays-Byrne, been a while since he been on screen) enters. He pulls the covers off revealing full frontal nudity from Lucy. The man pulls her over and lifts her up now revealing her bum. Then he drops her on the ground and struggles to put her back on the bed.

- Lucy get a call about getting a job for another job. At her other waitressing job, her co-worker (played by Michael Dorman) asks her to a party, she declines, but he coaxes her with the promise of some drug, which she takes. The next day, Lucy is lying naked, but under covers, in her bed. She gets a call and finally gets out of bed, revealing full frontal and rear nudity and she answers her phone. It is the driver to her job. She gets dressed and leaves with the driver.

- Lucy asks Clara whether she can see what happens when she is asleep. Clara declines, but Lucy has bought a mini spy camera which she smuggles into the room. In the final throes before she goes to sleep, Lucy staggers out of bed to put up the spy camera and reveals full frontal and rear nudity. She then gets back to bed. The first man has come back for more, but this time he takes some tea as well. Clara comes in to check on things and finds that Lucy is not responsive. She tries to get her back to life, and does. Lucy is startled awake, revealing her breasts and then she sees the elderly man also sleeping next to her and she freaks out.

There is absolutely no sex in the film whatsoever. The nudity does not begin until the 30-40 minute mark of the film.

So in total, Emily Browning has 3 underwear scenes and 7 nude scenes in the film. Mirrah Foulkes shows her breasts and bum. Possibly Lizzie Schebesta shows her breasts. Also various women show their breasts and bum, most likely Bridgette Barrett, Hannah Bella Bowden, Sarah Kinsella, Stephanie Menere, Lauren Orrell (who I capped the other day from Rescue: Special Ops), Natalia Siwek and who knows others.

I also watched another Australian film today, Blame, with Kestie Morassi and Sophie Lowe, but there was nothing cappable in the entire film. But it was a solid thriller nonetheless.

Update for 23 June...

The tale of two horror films named Salvage. The US one I came about quite by accident when I was gathering the UK one.

The UK Salvage is a containment horror thriller about Jodie (Linzey Cocker) who comes home to her wanton mother (Neve McIntosh) for Christmas and discovers her shagging some bloke. Jodie runs to one of the neighbours to get away from her mother while the mother tries to get rid of her conquest. But, before he can go, the army has set up a containment area in the street and they seem to be hunting something the has gotten loose. All of the sudden, zombiefied neighbours burst into the house and the mother and lover must fight for survival and get to her daughter before the zombiefied neighbours or the 'shoot first, ask question later' army get to them. OK horror film, gets to the point quickly and doesn't last long. Nothing special, but they've been worse.

The US Salvage is a stalker horror film following Claire (Lauren Currie Lewis) who is killed by a serial killer, then she wakes up and she is at work. Was it a dream? Her boyfriend, friends and the cops thinks she's been silly but Claire is seeing someone who is out to get her. Then the serial killer comes and finds her and kills her again. Then she wakes up again. Is this Groundhog Day? Why is Claire continually getting killed in her 'dreams'? Neat little low budget thriller with a clever twist. Has its limitations but well worth a look if your looking for an interesting horror film with a little something different.

Update for 19 June...

Let's head to a troubled Australian production.

In Her Skin is an Melbourne based drama based on the shocking true story of the death of Rachel Barber (Kate Bell), a bright, bubbly, 15 year-old talented dancer who was murdered by her former neighbour Caroline Reid (Irish actress Ruth Bradley with a pretty decent Australian accent). In March 1999, Rachel's father (Guy Pearce) is waiting to pick up his daughter from the tram as usual. But, she does not arrive. He calls his wife (Miranda Otto), who is frantic. They do the usual ring around and it turns out that her dancing partner boyfriend Manny (Khan Chittenden) has held back a snippet of info in that Rachel told him that she was going to do a 'job'. Thinking the worst, the parent call the police, but they follow the usual procedure of missing persons. Across town, former neighbour of the Barbers, Caroline Reid, is living in an flat paid for by her father and works in an admin job. And she has serious mental problems including major body issues. Although her boss (Justine Clarke) is caring enough for her in light of her parents (Sam Neill and Rebecca Gibney) desertion, she is getting worse. She hatches a plan to get the one person that she finds beautiful, Rachel Barber and kill her. She does so by offering her $500 and some clothes to participate in a psychological exam. Then she strangles Rachel to death and disfigures her, later burying her on her parent country property. In the days after the disappearance, the Barber are rebuffed by a heartless police system, but with the help of a Federal police officer in the Missing Persons Department, they finally find out that Rachel was murdered by an increasingly unstable Caroline. This murder is pretty famous in Melbourne as it's such a shocking murder and the story behind it is heartbreaking. The murderer still seems to have no real reason for killing Rachel (and the film doesn't add any new light on that either). In Her Skin is incredibly brutal and honest in it's depiction of Caroline's problems and the murder recreation is very ugly. It's a very grim film that is more about the Barbers and their unwillingness to give up finding out what happened to their daughter. Great all-star Australian (well, you know what I mean) cast and well told, but not an easy watch either.

And In Her Skin looks like being a long way off getting an Australian release. The film was made in 2007, finished in 2008 and then ran into a legal battle between the money providers and the producers that involved a savage recut (thankfully, the film I saw was as intended). The legal battles ended early last year, but the film has been in limbo since, finally getting a token release in North America. Personally, I think the film would work better now as a TV movie in Australia. It has an all star cast, would get a wider viewership and might even make some money back in sales. This film is so far out of the consciousness that I doubt it would do anything in cinemas now, plus Australians don't go to Australian films anyway, but strangely will watch Australian drama...

Australian VHS Classics for 18 June...

I've spruiked about this film before, so it's great that I can finally get around to capping it.

Hostage: The Christine Maresch Story (also known as Savage Attraction) is a 1983 based-on-a-true-story drama thriller set between 1974-1979, about an abused girl Christine (Michelle Williams look alike Kerry Mack) who escapes to a travelling carnival where she meets a German dissident Walter (German actor Ralph Schicha) who is working as a handyman at the carnival. He takes an immediate liking to her and after she dumps her latest dud boyfriend, Christine starts going out with Walter. Things develop quickly to the point where Walter asks Christine to marry him and when she declines he shoots himself. In hospital, Walter gives her an ultimatum; marry him or let him die. So, Christine reluctantly marries Walter. Big mistake. It seems Walter is the possessive type and he has plans to go back to West Germany. Events occur that make his passage back home viable, but she gets pregnant (for the second time) and she wants an abortion. He tells her to get one in Germany. In Germany, things are about to get very very bad for Christine. Turns out Walter is a part of a neo-Nazi group who want to take West Germany. And he's an armed robber and he's going to force Christine into it as well as the higher ups don't think she is down with their little social group. And there's more... Wow, if this is a true story then fuck me. I haven't even gone into the more outlandish aspects of the movie including the film turning into Dead Calm (before Dead Calm), Walter immediately taking Christine to a zeppelin field once they enter Germany, a truly bizarre sequence in Turkey and of course 'Baby with a Crossbow'. There's so little restraint in this film that it's almost impossible to take seriously. And when things slow down, which is rare, a nude scene is thrown in with the gorgeous Kerry Mack, so the film is hard not to like, but whether it's any good is another matter.

And Hostage: The Christine Maresch Story was the second highest grossing Australian film of 1983. How did that happen? And how is film not on DVD???

Update for 13 June...

I was going to release this last night, but realised I have nothing for the rest of the week, so it's been delayed a day.

Blue Crush 2 is a surfing drama, but a name only sequel to the original. Dana (Sasha Jackson) is an 18 year-old Malibu rich girl who misses her now deceased mother. She finds her mother's diary of her time in South Africa and surfing all the great spots there and makes a spur of the moment decision to jump on the next plane to South Africa and relive her mother's journey. On arrival, she meets Pushy (Elizabeth Mathis), a local surfer girl and they immediately becomes friends. On her first surf, Dana encounters Australian surfer Tara (Sharni Vinson), a Roxy Girl and they form a rivalry while fighting for a wave. This results in Dana breaking her mother's surfboard. She is also robbed of money and a prized reminder of her mother. Pushy takes her to where she lives, a surfie commune that is targetted for demolition and Dana immediately takes to the place like a duck to water. With Pushy as her guide and new friends Tim and Grant helping her get to her destination, Dana relives her mother's journey, while teaching Pushy the 180 move that will help her impress the judges as she vies for the last Roxy Girl position. The first film is actually quite a well made and heartfelt film. This film doesn't have that same vibe at all. Everything is predetermined and the journey feels hollow. The characters are all so phony, particularly the supporting characters who all seems to do 180 degree turns in behaviour. If you want something the feels real, rewatch the first film, this one's a bust.

As I said about The Roommate, I'm addicted to these tame, PG-13 films with pretty girls a-go-go. Plenty of bikini action in this one. Disappointed that there weren't more South African girls in it.

Australian VHS Classic for 11 June...

Let's head back to the 80s.

Kiss The Night (aka Candy Regentag) is a 1987 drama about a prostitute at a Kings Cross brothel named Candy (Patsy Stephen) who is going through a tough time. Her boyfriend and their friends are leeching off her and she is starting to hate being a prostitute. One night while going out with her fellow sex workers, she meets Reg (host of The EXTRAORDINARY, Warwick Moss) who protects one of her co-workers boyfriend from a beating. He is instantly attracted to her and is told that he can find her at the brothel. A few weeks later he visits the brothel and asks for Candy. Over time, Reg sporadically visits the brothel to get full service from Candy and over time Candy falls for Reg and becomes increasingly disgruntled with working at a brothel. She sees him as her way out, but he is only after a quick paid fuck. And it's going to end in tragedy. Not a bad look at the ins and outs of brothel work and of someone who wants out, but can't find a way. Doesn't show legal prostitution too glamorously (like Satisfaction does), and has two strong lead performances from Patsy Stephen (later a regular in Chances) and Warwick Moss. The film is relentlessly grim, which I don't mind, but I really didn't like the ending, sure it showed Candy's desperation, but really did she need to kill Reg when she found out that everything she thought of Reg was a complete facade. As if that isn't the case for pretty much all patrons of brothels. Worth a look if you like things grim and depressing.

The VHS of Kiss The Night posed a few problems. First of all that 80s look doesn't translate to well to DVD quality. A number of 80s DVDs haven't come out too well, something about the way these films were made that makes the transfers look fuzzy. And it only seems to happen in 80s films. Films from the 70s look better. Maybe it's to do with the use of cheaper film that came about from this period. I don't know. Also, Kiss The Night is very much a widescreen film and pan and scan doesn't suit it at all. At least the pan and scan is half decent on this transfer. I've looked at some others I have and they're dreadful, pure amateur hour stuff. Looking forward to making something out of those...

Redux Friday ends the two shot with an Aussie VHS Classic...

I promised a doubling up on the Australian Classics after missing out last week, so let's head back to a series I first had a crack at 9 years ago.

The Sugar Factory is a 1998 drama about 18 year-old Harris (Matt Day, looking quite a bit older than 18), who is a very troubled boy. He has a crush on the much older lady down the road Helen (Rhondd Findleton), who he mows the lawn for. One day when he is asked to look after her kids, the young daughter is found dead in the fridge while playing hide and seek. This sets off a chain reaction of events which ends with Harris pissing in front of everyone at his brother's wedding. He is sent away to a sort of halfway house run by Sam (John Waters) who has a radical way in treating his young patients including the violent Marlo (Anthony Hayes), wannabe rapist Joe, abused mute Angela (Michela Noonan) and anorexic Stephanie (Samantha Healy). While he befriends the others, he tries to work out who is this little girl in his dreams who is being taken away from him. He also tries to become friends with Helen once again, who seems very accommodating. I suppose there's a point to this film, buggered if I know what. It is punctuated by one of the shonkiest psycharists ever portrayed on film. I have no idea what his practises are, but he seems to let his 'patients' do whatever they want like wander around the town late at night. Turns out Harris solves his own issues by going even more mental. Whatever...

You know the deal with these converted VHS movies. This one turns out pretty good, except for a bit of a smudge on the picture, but nothing big. Also, as a coincidence, both Michela Noonan and Samantha Healy, who appear in The Sugar Factory, go topless in the first series of All Saints which I'll get around to releasing as soon as I can be bothered.

There will be two reduxes today, this one and one later on (in about 12 hours time) which will be a VHS redux of series I did 9 years ago.

Tomorrow (if I finish in time), I'll have another Aussie VHS Classic, the 1987 hooker drama Kiss The Night.

Quick Update for 9 June...

Quick as in I really couldn't give two shits about the incredibly tame (and lame) Single White Female knockoff that is The Roommate. It's clogging up the hard drive, so I'm just going to dump it. It's amazing how I get addicted to these tame films with lots of pretty girls, in this case all from teen-oriented TV shows. Hell, I've almost finished another series from a tame film that will be up in the coming days (probably Sunday), but at least this one was plenty of bikini action.

The source was incredibly dark, so I've tried to reduce the blacks in the following videos and while it works great in the dark scenes, it does occasionally make the lighter scenes a little more bathed in light. But, I couldn't care less...

Update for 7 June...

Damn it, I didn't get around to doing the Australian Classics for the weekend. I knew the streak wouldn't last. I had one lined up too, but I got distracted. I'll have a double up for next weekend.

Anyway, Hall Pass is a comedy about two men Rick and Fred (Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) who have hit a rut in their respective marriages and have become obsessed with looking at other women. Their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christine Applegate) dutifully notice this and are disappointed by their increasingly desperate actions. A friend of the wives tell them of what she did to keep her husband loyal and that has to give them a 'hall pass', meaning a week where they can have sex with other women to get it out of their system. After an incident at a friend's place, Rick's wife lets him have a hall pass, then Fred is given one. With their wives away, Rick and Fred get all high ideas as to what they are going to do, but it becomes obvious that they haven't a clue about picking up women. Then Rick strikes up a chat with a beautiful cafe worker they have been ogling (Nicky Whelan) and then things get interesting for Rick. Meanwhile, their wives seem to be having no problems when other men, even though they aren't trying... (Another) Desperately disappointing film from the Farrelly Brothers, who have been seriously out of form. Their first four films (Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There's Something About Mary and Me, Myself and Irene) are comedy classics, so it's a shame that these films are so low on the laughs (there are moments, but nowhere near enough) and the moralising has gotten more heavy-handed, Hall Pass' moralising is ridiculously predictable. Even the far out concepts have become lame. A 'hall pass' for guys that perve on other women. Seriously? They're not even cheating. Bah, another one bites the dust...

And what's up with Nicky Whelan keeping her Australian accent again (as she did in Hollywood and Wine)? When did Americans become comfortable with the Aussie accent? Even Sharni Vinson keeps it in Blue Crush 2.

Update for 3 June...

Redux Friday is held off for another week.

The Big Bang is a noir thriller about a private detective (Antonio Banderas) who is hired by a recently released former Russian boxer to find a stripper named Lexie Persimmon (Sienna Guillory) who he was penpals with in prison. During the search, the private detective runs into various characters who end up dead after he speaks to them. He is followed by 3 bent cops who want a piece of a 30 million dollar blood diamond that the Russian boxer apparently gave to Lexie which was originally owned by a Russian mobster. The search leads to a town in New Mexico and meets fiesty waitress Fay (Autumn Reeser), who is in town to follow a once in a lifetime event that is about to happen where a delusional hippie billionaire wants to discover the 'God Particle'. The private detective is invited to dinner at the billionaire's house and finds Lexie, except she now the wife of the billionaire and has left that life behind. And she has doesn't know about the Russian boxer either. Which isn't good because everyone is closing in... There's sonething about this strange noir thriller. It's bizarre turn into quantum physics is quite interesting and unexpected. The characters are suitably weird. The tropes of noir are well handled. Anyone who frequents this site knows I'm a massive noir fan, so this film is right up my alley. I quite enjoyed the film and it's inherent weirdness. And as someone who's watched Antonio Banderas from his early Spanish films 'til now, I'm still amazed at how he keeps pulling women on film. And look so young. He's over 50... I can only imagine Javier Bardem, who's followed a similar course to Banderas will still be doing the same in 10 years when he's in his 50s.

Below you will find the extended sex scene (by over a minute) that features on the Bluray. In the commentary, the director says they had to cut it to get a NC-17, and boy is it pretty full on. In Australia, that scene alone got the highest rating. Imagine if they actually showed genitals...

Update for 1 June...

Let's look at a low-budget Australian film.

The Makeover is a comedy about a complete dweeb Rodger (Martin Dingle-Wall) who cannot get a girlfriend. Set up by his friend on a what he thinks is a date, he meets journalist Patricia (Lara Cox) who wants a total loser so that she can turn him into a man who is confident with the ladies and then write about the results. She sends him to cocksure (and shonky) American pick-up artist/makeover artist Brad Holloway (Jeff Gannon) and forces him (by promising to expose him as a fraud) to makeover Rodger. In 6 weeks, Brad turns Rodger into a new confident man, actually a complete clone of himself and all of a sudden, Rodger is swimming in ladies. But, he is a 30 second wonder and is enlisted the help of Heather (Natalie Rose), a photographer and she helps him to become a stayer. While picking up lots of ladies, he manages to steal away the one woman Brad truly wants and fall in love with Heather, but both will come with consequences that will rock Rodger's new world. Oh, and there's one last punch in the guts from Patricia that will ruin everyone. You know, while The Makeover is a pretty by the books ugly duckling turned swan film, it's quite enjoyable and the story works well. Sure, Martin Dingle-Wall is not at all convincing as a dweeb, but he's got the confident ladies man down pat. And the ending is a nice surprise and a the twists are pretty devasting. Sure, it's low budget and it shows frequently, it economy is to its advantage ans with a solid script, it isn't a issue.

And the director made a film called Elixir I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. But, that seems lost forever sadly...
