Nudity in the Optus 180Project

Haven't done an update for a month, a combination of being distracted and can't being bothered remembering that every one of these updates ends up taking all day and I just say 'fuck it' and do something else. Well, I started this update on Saturday, inspired by the short films in recent updates and have finally gotten around to finish it today.

Anyway, Optus Cable in Australia had a competition where filmmakers made 3 minute short films where the judges would vote for one of the shorts to be made into a 50 minute movie/web series. I'm not sure that the following update features all of the winners as most mentions of the competition have been scrubbed from the internet, but this update contains the winners from 2008-2011.

2008 winner Takoyaki City

Haven't been able to find the full 50 minute version and I've never seen it but a 10 minute segment of the movie is available online and it contains a couple of nude scenes which makes me wonder if there's any more in the rest of the movie. First up is Brigette Paroissien who plays a web cam model and shows her breasts. She also had a nude scene in the 2012 Queensland made B-horror movie Sleeper, a scene that is ridiculously shoehorned in as she has a shower while she is supposed to be looking after a woman stalked by a sadistic killer.

There's also a nice surprise when Amanda Simons briefly shows her breasts. She is best known as one of the crew from cult comedy Danger 5 and she doesn't have many credits so this is possibly her only nude scene.

2010 winner Sick!

Sick! is a comedy about a man who gets tuberculosis and has to spend 3 weeks quarantined in hospital (seems familiar...) and has nothing to do so he joins his brother in playing an RPG which seems to come alive and marry up with events happening in his life. It's very of the time so some of the references to Facebook and YouTube seems like ancient history (despite being on from 10 years ago) or of having a limited understanding of both. It's an oddly mixed real-life take on the on-line world, some of it becoming very cringeworthy. Anyway, there's a brief scene where Emma Dunne plays a goat woman character brought to life from the game world and we briefly see her right breast and a hint of her bottom.

This is the only nudity from the competition winners that I know of, but there are some scenes of interest in other winners, including the excellent Dungoona which features a head-turning debut from Natasha Bassett, who would go onto many credits including playing Britney Spears in telemovie Britney Ever After.
