Australian VHS Classics for 31 January...
You know what I haven't done in a while? An Australian Classic of a film unavailable on DVD.
Lady, Stay Dead is a 1981 thriller about Gordon (Chard Hayward), a gardener who is obsessed with pop star Marie Coleby (Deborah Coulls). Gordon just happens to be working on Marie's property and he wants to have sex with her. Marie is about to go away for a shoot and her sister Jenny (Louise Howitt) is going to stay at her house. Except Gordon really wants to have sex with Marie. But, she does not want to, so Gordon forces himself on her and then when she rejects him, he drowns her in the fish tank. Then, the housekeeper from across the way comes over. Gordon kills him. Then, Jenny arrives and it's just never going to end for poor Gordon. First, he tries being friendly with her, then she gets suspicious of him, so he decides to kill her next. Except, she's proving harder to kill than her sister... From the director of some quite sleazy films Night of Fear, Plugg and Inn of the Damned (all films I must get around to capturing at some stage) and bizarrely, the rather sensitive Little Boy Lost, it comes as no surprise that Lady, Stay Dead begins so sleazily, I wondered how much more sleazy it could get. Thankfully (or not...), it's toned down in the second half. It's a damn shame this film isn't all that good because at times it threatens to be a decent little thriller, but it keeps shooting itself in the foot with some clunky moments. The cop played by Roger Ward feels like comic relief which pricks whatever tension was built up. Chard Hayward is surprisingly good as the Norman Bates-ish psychopath who keeps digging himself into a bigger and bigger hole. If only the clunkyness and the sleaze were toned down, it could of being a contender. Ah well, the sleaze is nice though.
As with all movies taken from VHS, be advised that the quality isn't a good as DVD, although this one came out alright. There's a lengthy video with the entirety of Deborah Coulls wearing a see-through dress with no underwear underneath. She go out on the town like that? Also, I tried making another video with Louise Howitt wearing an apparently see-through blouse, possibly made from the same fabric, but we never get a good look. Maybe a DVD or heaven forbid, a Bluray of the movie could tell us more. I'm surprised this isn't on DVD considering Night of Fear and Inn of the Damned are in a double pack. And Inn of the Damned is an appalling film, way worse than Lady, Stay Dead, plenty of good sleaze though...

Update for 26 January...
Another quick HD update.
Wake Wood is an Irish horror thriller about a couple, Patrick and Louise (Aidan Gillen and Eva Birthistle), who have just lost their daughter Alice in a vicious dog attack and have moved to a town called Wake Wood, where Patrick becomes the new vet. One night after their car breaks down, they head up to the nearest farm and Louise spies some sort of ceremony where someone appears to be born. She quickly leaves, but are noticed by the head of the group. Arthur (Timothy Spall), the local retiring vet. When Patrick and Louise get home they are startled by Arthur who makes them an offer the get back their daughter for three days so they can say goodbye properly, but she cannot leave the town. After deliberating, they accept the offer. And they are lucky because if she had been dead for over her year, their daughter could not be reborn. It has been just over 11 months. They get their daughter back, but something is wrong with her. She seems to be obsessed with death and she wants to leave the town. Then the killings start. What to do with the homicidal daughter? An OK little thriller that has it's merits even if it has credibility issues the longer it goes. The ending is quite something though and almost makes the film. Yeah, sure, it riffs on similar films, but it's well worth a look and there are plenty worse out there.

Update for 24 January...
Let's head away from Australia for a brief moment.
Tanner Hall is a drama set in a all-girl boarding school in New England sometime in the 70s and focuses on two girls who used to be friends when they were young and now back together, but things are now different. Victoria (Georgia King) has come from Britain and is being dumped at the school by her mother. She is reunited with Fernanda (Rooney Mara) and they are sort of forced together, but things are frosty from the start. They are joined by the sexually charged Kate (Brie Larson), who is playing a dangerous game with a teacher (Chris Kattan) and Lucasta (Amy Ferguson), who is struggling with her sexuality. Victoria has procured the key to the house and made a copy of it which allows the girls to leave the house when they like. Fernanda is introduced to her mother's friend's partner Gio (Tom Everett Scott), an older man and they hit it off almost immediately. It's going to be a year where the girls learn a lot about themselves and not all of it is going to end well. Tanner Hall is an interesting enough coming of drama, but the most interesting part is the Fernanda / Gio plot. I dunno, I liked it fine, but I'm just not that fussed with it. The Victoria character seems to be there solely to stir up things with everyone else, particularly Fernanda, but has no real plot of her own apart from a not really explored obsession with death and cutting herself. Ah, it's not really my type of film anyway...
And here's the very brief moment where we see Brie Larson's nipple.

Australian Classics for 23 January...
While I'm finally starting to cap some Wendy Hughes films, how about one of her many appearances in a Paul Cox film.
Lonely Hearts in a 1982 romantic drama about two people who are set up through a dating agency. Peter (Norman Kaye) is a 50-something man who fixes pianos for a living, wears a toupee, is a bit of a kleptomaniac and is feeling lonely after the death of his mother. Patricia (Wendy Hughes) is a 30 year-old shy bank clerk, who is inexperienced relationship wise and still lives with her domineering parents. They meet up and seem to hit it off well. Peter encourages Patricia to join him in the amateur play and she does so well she ends up getting the lead. But, Peter wants more from the relationship, Patricia is reluctant, but gives him a chance to go further, but he goes too far and Patricia leaves and ends the relationship. Peter is distraught and the play is in chaos. Can Peter win her back? As I've said a thousand times before, Paul Cox films are an acquired taste. Some are pretty good, but others are insufferable. Lonely Hearts is a winner because it feels right even though the ending is overly dramatic. While it's played pretty straight, there are doses of gentle humour which feels very much like they come from co-writer John Clarke, an excellent satirist (The Games is a well known example of this). So, this is one of the good Paul Cox films and thank fuck for that.

Australian Classics for 22 January...
Well, technically it's an Australian film although it was entirely filmed in New Zealand. Whatever...
The Piano is a 1993 romantic drama about Ada McGrath (Holly Hunter), a mute woman who has come to New Zealand for the arranged marriage with wealthy landowner Alisdair Stewart (Sam Neill). With her she bring her young daughter Flora (Anna Paquin) and her prized possession, a piano. The piano has to be left at the beach because apparently it cannot be carried back to the house and this puts Ada offside with Alisdair right from the start. Sensing the problem, Alisdair's head worker at his plantation George (Harvey Keitel), decides to get the piano and put it in his humble house and offers a peaceful resolution by saying that she can use the piano at his place in exchange for teaching him to play the piano. Except George isn't interested in playing the piano, he's much more interested in Ada. After some reluctance, they finally fall for each other and have a torrid affair revolving around the lesson. Alisdair is alerted to this possibility by Flora's strange recreation of what she saw them doing and then alarmed when he sees it for himself. But by then, George has tired of their relationship (possibly forced) and sends the piano up to Alisdair's house. Alisdair and Ada try to make a go at a relationship, but the spark isn't there and it still is between Ada and George. Alisdair takes drastic measures to keep them together but is that going to me enough? Yeah, I'm not really a period film man, but you know what, I didn't mind this film which was lauded at time of release. The performances are pretty darn good and the drama is riveting stuff. Hell, I even endured Harvey Keitel prancing around naked and still come out liking it. Hell, I'm convinced Anna Paquin never been that good since. And the best part is that it's an original period piece, which there is a serious dearth of as the same old book get mined for film adaptations. Jane Campion hasn't been this good since, that dreadful duo of Holy Smoke and In The Cut are testament to that, although I'm willing to concede that Bright Star is pretty darn good return to form.

This ain't a Redux Friday update for 20 January...
Let's get a little more modern.
Killer Elite is a thriller about a bunch of elite soldiers that are about to get caught up in a dangerous revenge mission. Danny (Jason Statham) has retired from the game and is living happily in Australia. He is brought out of retirement when his mentor Hunter (Robert de Niro) is being held hostage by a rich Arab after he failed to complete a $6 million revenge mission to kill 3 SAS soldiers who killed the rich Arab 3 oldest sons. Danny reluctantly meets with the rich Arab and it turns out he has been bought in to finish the job or Hunter will be killed. So, Danny heads to London and brings back his old team to help him kill them and make each look like an accident after they get a confession from them. But, things don't quite go to plan. Yes, they are killed, but not the way they were intended. And these soldier's deaths alerts their head Logan (Clive Owen) who investigates and finds he is neck deep in something he can't control. After all 3 soldiers are killed, Hunter is let go and Danny heads back to his girl Anne (Yvonne Strahovski), but then the rich Arab finds out there is one more soldier involved and he has written a book out it. Danny is called reluctantly back thanks to a threat made towards Anne, but this time things aren't going to go to plan. A lot is going on in this mostly Australian made thriller (and mostly in Melbourne). I love seeing local sights in foreign films including local bit part actors, but I did get a good laugh at the train station I frequent being used as a Paris subway station. Flagstaff Station is a shithole and even the computer whizzes couldn't gussy it up. It's such a shithole, it's closed on the weekends! Anyway, there's something a little off with this film. The plot is just not believable for something based on a true story and it goes on and on and on. Jason Statham doesn't seem to have the heart to bring his usual self to this film. This also seems like a step down for Clive Owen and Yvonne Strahovski has a pretty forgettable role. I wish Killer Elite was better, it's not that bad and it had potential, but in the end it just doesn't deliver enough thrills.
Shank set in the horrible future of 2015 in London where the streets are riddled with gangs and people are desperate just for the some highly priced 'munchies'. One gang, lead by Rager, has set up a robbery of a truck full of 'munchies', which they would on sell to Boogie, who runs a lucrative stall at the market. But, during the robbery, another gang run by Tugz also want to jack the truck and a chase ensues. Tugz's gang catches Junior and almost kills him, but Rager comes in a saves the day and takes on the gang by himself. He is not good enough and is stabbed to death by Tugz. Distressed that his big brother is dead, he wants revenge and convinces his ragtag gang to join him in finding Tugz. Along the way, they meet up with a number of colourful characters and gangs including an all-girl gang, who help them find Tugz. Oh wow, this is a terribly silly film. It sooooo wants to be The Warriors, but is laughable all the way. Setting the film in the next few of years was the first mistake. Then, there's idea that there's no guns or drugs, in a dystopic wasteland. There's a ridiculous dog fight scene set in video game mode where an apparently near dead dog can mangle a near perfect dog to death. Oh and the street lingo is absolutely painful to listen to. Hell, I only watched it to see Jennie Jacques and Kaya Scodelario and they don't turn up 'til after the hour mark and by then, all is lost. Bah! It's time to rewatch The Warriors. Can you DIG IT?

Australian Classics for 19 January...
Still stuck in the 70s.
The Great Macarthy is a 1975 Aussie Rules comedy about country football star McCarthy (John Jarratt on debut) who is recruited to play football in the big leagues by the South Melbourne Swans. In the country, he worked in his dad's garage as a mechanic. In the city, he is well looked after, given an office job, which is basically a token position. And he soon becomes the star player at full forward. Then he starts taking night classes and he meets his teacher Miss Russell (Judy Morris), a cultured professional. He falls for her hard, but things don't go as planned and they break up. McCarthy moves on, but she is still in the back of his mind even when he quickly marries Andrea (Kate Fitzpatrick), the ballsy daughter of the club's owner Col Ball-Miller (Barry Humphries, criminally underused). And quickly divorces. McCarthy then loses his love for the game, but who knows, maybe Miss Russell will help him find it. The Great Macarthy is a bizarre relic that is a rare example of Aussie Rules on the big screen (I think The Club and Australian Rules are the only others). The movie is all over the place. It places itself as a bawdy comedy, but anytime Judy Morris' cultured character is on screen, the film almost turns into an arthouse love story which doesn't fit at all. Most of the comedy is pretty crass and dated, but there's a laugh or two. The footy scenes are a mix of acting and real live action with a lookalike playing McCarthy and the footage is really good, so is the incorporation of the League Teams crew (although Jack Dyer is strangely missing from the film, but appears in the trailer...). Max Gilles plays two different characters who look exactly the same, which is just out and out baffling. Barry Humphries' character probably seemed funnier on paper, which is a shame. But, there's one thing that amused me unintentionally and that is McCarthy wears the number 39 and plays full forward for the Swans just like a rather flamboyant show-off (who admittedly could play) in the 80s named Warwick Capper, who was the Great McCarthy of his day (as the tag line says, 'He's footy's most forward full forward'). Now, that is a bizarre coincidence.

Let's head back to the 70s.
The True Story of Eskimo Nell is a 1975 erotic comedy, made at the same time as the British film Eskimo Nell, begins with Deadeye Dick (Max Gillies) who is obsessed with watching Mexico Pete (Serge Lazareff) have sex because he loves his orgasm face. Dick shoots dead the husband of the woman (Elke Neidhart) Pete was about to have sex with as the husband was going to do him in. Dick and Pete become reluctant buddies, but then have a common goal when Dick tells the story of Eskimo Nell (Victoria Anoux), a prostitute with a reputation second to none (called a womper). But, she is in Alaska and it's a travel from California. They meet up with Pete's friend Bogger (Grahame Bond) and cause a bit of trouble. Then they go over their back stories, have a farting competition (Blazing Saddles, anyone?), talk lots more about Nell, then finally get to Alaska and the bar where she works. But, Nell isn't quite the woman she is made out to be. Boy, does this film drag out a razor thin idea. Most of the jokes are rather feeble, but Gillies does alright with not much to work with and is good with the pratfalls. Alright, the film does deliver some excellent nudity, including sex bomb Abigail's first full frontal nude scene and the gorgeous Elli Maclure and Victoria Anoux (also nude in Stone, a film I must get around to capping soon). So, there's that and not a lot else to recommend. At least that's something.

Australian Classics for 16 January...
A very brief Australian Classic today, something I missed in the transit over the last 10 years.
Ned Kelly, another apocryphal treatment of that Australian outlaw from 2003 begins after Ned (Heath Ledger) is fitted up for a crime he probably didn't do. He is sent to jail for 2 years and comes back wanting the quiet life with his family. He starts up bare knuckle boxing and is quite good. Across the way, a rich family have moved in and he takes a shine to the woman, of the house, Julia Cook (Naomi Watts), although she is married. But, the local cops want the Kelly gang gone and will do anything to get rid of them. A young constable wants Ned's sister Kate (Kerry Condon), but she doesn't want him and it is the catalyst for what is about to happen. The cops steal the Kelly family horses and lock them up. The Kelly gang get them back, but the young constable wants Kate and things come to a head while Ned is having it off Julia and the young constable is forced out of the house. He tells the other cops that Ned shot him and the shit hits the fan. The Kelly Gang, including his brother Dan, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne (Orlando Bloom) go on the run. The cops come and arrest his mother to force them back but this doesn't work and they go after the gang. When they catch up, there is a shoot-out where 3 cops are killed. They also start robbing banks. But, to the public, they are forced into this situation by the cops fitting them up and they are lauded in the eyes of the public, even though $20,000 has been put on their heads and the best cop in Victoria, Superintendent Francis Hare (Geoffrey Rush), is sent in to get them. And it's going to come to a head in Glenrowan. Yeah, I don't have much time for the Kelly legend, doesn't really interest me, but there is plenty to play with and possibly too much has over the years. This is a solid, but not really memorable version. Ledger leads the film extremely well and shows what was to come (and sadly cut short). But, the rest are there for name value only. Naomi Watts is barely in it and her character is such a wet blanket. Orlando Bloom barely registers even though he has a fairly big role, but then he rarely does. The final showdown is quite shocking and if it is how it happened, the police should be ashamed of themselves. Ah well...
I missed this film when it was released mainly because I didn't really want to watch it. But then I was rewatching the excellent miniseries Marking Time recently and there was Thea Gumbert and it got me thinking where did she go (well, after noticed she has rather big breasts...). And lo and behold, there she is in Ned Kelly briefly completely naked. And playing a 13 year-old girl. Um, yeah...

As promised, more from the filmography of Clare Binney.
Duet For Four is a 1981 drama written by Don's Party writer David Williamson about the chaos that surrounds the life of Ray Martin (Mike Preston). Currently in a relationship with Barbara (Wendy Hughes) and living with her and her children and is pressuring marriage, his life is made complex by his ex-wife Margot (Diane Cilento) who keeps him on his toes especially with her new, much younger lover. Their daughter Caroline (Sigrid Thornton) is running with the wrong crowd and is getting into trouble with drugs. Mike works at a toy company with his very good friend and right hand man Terry (Gary Day) and things are changing rapidly at the company. Interest to buy out a local toy company has come from America and Al Geisman (Michael Pate) has come to Australia to suss out the companies and make the final decision. It looks as though Al is going to go with Ray's company, but as this happens, Ray's daughter Caroline overdoses. This changes Ray's perspective on life and he will make a major life changing decision that will change everything. Well, it's no Don's Party, but there are elements that work well, particularly the final act turn of events, but the film just isn't interesting enough. Ray seems to have it all and lives well, but apart from his daughter's issues, his problems seem relatively minor. Who cares that his partner wants to get married to him? Who cares that he will be bought out and become richer? Who cares about his issues with his ex? His midlife crisis looks pretty good to me. The most ridiculous thing in this film has to be some of the proclamations about the future that are made, all of which are way off. Embarrassingly so...
Dimboola is a 1979 comedy focusing around the upcoming wedding between Morrie and Maureen (Bruce Spence and Natalie Bate). In the country Victorian town of Dimboola, English journalist Vivian Worcester-Jones (Max Gillies) has come to experience how the locals celebrate a wedding. First, the respective parties have a bucks/hen's night, which Vivian experiences both (dressed as a woman for the hen's party). A photo of Morrie with the stripper (Clare Binney) surfaces and gets in the hands of Maureen, who calls off the wedding. Vivian tries to make his move on the vulnerable Maureen, to no success, but Morrie finds a way to win Maureen back and they get married. Told mostly through the eyes of Vivian, this turns out to be a terrible device. Vivian is such a pointless character (who was not in the play, just written in for the movie) and his appearance drags the film down. It's not Max Gillies fault, who's fine, but it's just seems so unnecessary. Meanwhile, the jokes are rather flat and the lead couple are hardly worth caring about. The wedding looks like fun, but the humour is completely forced and has dated badly. Also, it looks like footage was inserted into the film, hopefully just to salvage bad film, but the inserts are terrible quality. Looks like this IS a long forgotten film. Bah!
And mark down another nude scene from Wendy Hughes. I'm slowly getting through them all. Must be close to ten films she's appeared nude in. The others I've done so far are A Dangerous Summer and Hoodwink.

Don's Party is a 1976 slice of life comedy/drama that focuses on a time when there is key changes in the social structure. Set on the night of the 1969 Australian elections where the Labor Party is tipped to get back into office for the first time since 1949, Don (John Hargreaves) and his wife Kath (Jeanie Drynan) host a party to celebrate a Labor Party victory, inviting his friends who have varying views. Simon (Graeme Blundell) and Jody (Veronica Lang) are fairly conservative and seem out of place at the party. Mal (Ray Barrett) and Jenny (Pat Bishop) are long time friends of Don and Kath with similar views, but their marriage is a little unsteady. Mack's (Graham Kennedy) wife has dumped him and arrived by himself. Evan and Kerry (Candy Raymond) are a couple whose marriage is falling apart and it's going to be a long night for them. Finally, serial womaniser Cooley (Harold Hopkins) has picked up a promiscuous young girl Susan (Clare Binney) and together they are going to set this party alight. Over the night, both political and sexual tensions will hit boiling point, marriages and friendships frayed and things may never be the same again. If only the Labor Party would win the election. (Spoiler: They don't). It's hard to describe Don's Party without going on and on because there's some much happening. It's a pretty much perfect showcase of a certain time and I say that as someone who has an aversion to writer David Williamson's work (although I seem to have forgotten why). While it is based on a play and is pretty much set just at Don's house, it never feels stagey or restrictive. Director Bruce Beresford has done some great work here. There's so many iconic scenes and while the characters all have their purpose, Cooley is a standout, he's so freaking hilarious. His reaction to finding out the girl he just picked up, Susan, is just 19 is priceless. And he hits on every woman at the party, including Jenny, who he calls a fishwife. It's all gold and I have to say, one the best Australian films ever. I can't believe this is first time I've ever seen Don's Party.
And Clare Binney is pure hotness in her first ever film. She doesn't have much of acting resume, only appearing in four films and a TV movie. Tomorrow, I release series from two other films she appeared in, Dimboola and Duet For Four. I've already capped Hostage, but she had nothing cappable in that film (I recommend it for Kerry Mack). Don's Party is well and truly her best nudity.

Update for 7 January...
Anyone who's been to this site for a while will know that this series was coming.
La Piel Que Habito (The Skin I Live In) is the latest from Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar and it's as weird as ever. Dr. Robert Ledgard (Antonio Banderas in his first Almodóvar film since 1989's Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! Can't believe it's been that long) is a world famous specialist on growing skin for humans who has developed skin that can not be harmed. He is helping Vera Cruz (Elena Anaya, ah Almodóvar couldn't resist with Vera Cruz, could he?) seemingly recover from shocking injuries and has rebuilt her skin with this perfect skin. One day, the doctor's maid Marilia (Marisa Paredes) is contacted by her deadbeat son, who bursts into the house and ties up his mother and spies Vera on the monitors and he loses it. She looks exactly like someone he knew and was supposedly burnt to death in a fire. He grabs Vera and rapes her, only to be then shot dead by the returning doctor. The doctor soothes Vera and then we head back 6 years we're at a wedding that is attended by the doctor and his mentally unstable daughter Norma (Blanca Suárez). During the night, she sneaks off with Vicente (Jan Cornet) where they are about to have sex, but Norma is confused as to what is happening and fights him off. Vicente strikes her unconscious then leaves the party, but not before the doctor as seen him leave. He finds his daughter who wakes up and thinks he has attacked her. He put her in a psychiatric hospital and finds Vicente and kidnaps him, taking him to a remote place and chaining him up. When Norma dies tragically in hospital, the doctor is about to unleash one unholy revenge on Vicente. And that's just the start of it... Yeah, you know I'm an easy lay when it comes to anything Almodóvar does, I've been loving his films for about 20 years now. The Skin I Live In is definitely one of his more twisted ones and it's taken me a few days to work out how twisted it is. The twist is truly fucked up and the more I think about it, the more fucked up it seems. I loved the Eyes Without A Face vibe to opening act of the film and it's great to see Banderas back. Elena Anaya (in her first Almodóvar film, shocking I know...) is gorgeous in this film and is great in the final act. The Skin I Live In is a very good Almodóvar film, not amongst his best, but up there though, very enjoyable and mind boggling at the same time.

Update for 5 January...
Another quickie today. How 'bout a weird-arse New Zealand film?
Wound is a psychological horror film (I think...) about Susan (Kate O'Rouke) who is a very troubled woman. We begin by watching her murder her father and burying him in the backyard. Next, she receives a letter that says that she has a daughter who would like to see her, but Susan has never had a daughter and the only time she was pregnant, at age 14, the baby was stillborn. The now teenage daughter Tanya (Te Kaea Beri) also seems to have her own problems. When they finally meet, it doesn't end well especially from Susan who heads further down a dark path as she dreams of what life would be like with her daughter. This causes her doctor to out her in a mental hospital, but not before she finds out some sort of truth about her daughter. I think... This film is truly baffling to the point of being trite. It's so in love with it's own ideas that it doesn't seems to want to share any conclusions with the audience. Maybe if the film was more interesting, I try to work out what the hell is going on, but Wound is pretty boring. Mind you I wouldn't expect anything less from the director of the also truly baffling Angle Mine which heads down a similar road. Oh well...

Update for 3 January...
A quickie today.
The Caller is a Puerto Rican based thriller about Mary Kee (Rachelle Lefevre) who has moved into a new apartment after splitting from her overpossessive ex-husband. At once she starts receiving phone calls from an elderly woman Rose who seems to be confused as to what year it is and who is living in the apartment as she tells stories of her own ex. Then, the calls become more disturbing as a cat and mouse phone chase happens between the two. Meanwhile, to get away from her ex, Mary Kee joins a Spanish class when she enters the wrong class and meets John Guidi (Stephen Moyer), who instantly falls for her. As Mary Kee and John become more involved, the phone calls from Rose continue and she reveals information that turns out to be true, even though she seems to be an invalid in an old folks home. Are these calls from the past? What does the gardener (Luis Guzmán) know and is not telling? Did Rose actually murder someone and burying them in the house? Is any of this real? Who knows... From the director of a good little thriller Dot The I and nothing much since, The Caller is a rather labourious film that relies on the silly conceit of a time travelling phone call. But, the film tries to pack in far too many ideas to compensate for the not fully realised time travelling phone call conceit which causes the end to make not a lot of sense and it seems to come out of nowhere. I've seen plenty worse, but this ain't a recommendation.
While the below sex scene is pretty dark, I'm pretty sure Rachelle is wearing nipple patches. It looks more likely she did in the next shot after taking her top off. But, we briefly see her bum, so it's not all bad news.

Update for the New Year 2012...
So, for the final year of humanity, it's time to kick it up a gear. Well... not really. Just get on with it...
Shark Night 3D (hmm, this version isn't in 3D) is a schlocky shark chomping onto pretty young things thriller somewhere on some saltwater Louisiana lake. Sara (um, Sara Paxton) invites a bunch of her college friends back to her lake house for a weekend of partying on the lake. Things are looking good until token black guy Malik falls over while water skiing and ends up losing an arm. But, how did he lose that arm? Was it really a shark? In a lake? In the panic to get him to a hospital over 2 hours away, Maya (Alyssa Diaz) falls out of the boat and is eaten up by a shark, then the boat loses control and crashes into the jetty, exploding on impact. Looks like Malik is down an arm and poor Maya an hors d'oeuvre. Along come hillbilly rednecks, one of which used to be Sara's boyfriend to help. Well, they are hillbilly rednecks, so their type of help means using remaining pretty young things (including Katharine McPhee) as bait for capturing the shark. Who will survive? Who will end up the shark's next course. Oh, come on, you know who's gonna live through this. Geez, I'm a cynical bastard, but really, you know how this film goes. Everything, and I mean everything, is predictable down to the finite detail. So, at some level, you have to enjoy it and yeah, there's pretty babes all in a row, but come on, this is a PG13 shark eating humans movie, when it should have been a balls to the wall hard-R Piranha 3D spectacular. Shark Night 3D is a shadow of that crowd pleaser. And no nudity, not even from token hot chick at the start, even though her top comes off twice and magically comes back on once, is a no deal in my book. OK, there's some nice, but brief, side-boob action, but come on... When Piranha 3DD coming out?
Oh and I haven't capped Piranha 3D, so don't bother searching my site for it like I know a bunch of you will...
Also, I believe that there is a brief areola slip from Sara Paxton. I'm pretty sure it is, here's a few caps to show you what I mean:
I've looked back at what I wrote this time last year and of course, I can only shake my head at the stuff I promised to release, but still haven't. And the planned site changes. Having said that, 2011 was my highest output year ever and I took most of December off. It's certainly felt it, that's for sure, but it has also meant that I've put a huge dent in the History of nudity in Australian Cinema aka Australian Classics series. And if you're into that, there's plenty more to come. I'm also tipping that 2011 may be the greatest year for Australian actress nudity ever and that's without a TV show like Satisfaction to fill it out. Sure, there's some years in the 70s and 80s where there was some great nudity but the quality is definitely better. And who knows what's in store for 2012. I haven't had a close look yet, but there could be some good stuff. And there's Burning Man to look forward too.
Last year, I only did a top 5 for the year and I don't know why it was only 5. This year it was a struggle just to get it down to ten, but I'll give it a go. Remember, it is only stuff that I captured in 2011 and was released either late 2010 or through 2011.
My favourite series of 2011 are:
1. Emily Browning etc. in Sleeping Beauty (pretty much a given)
2. Hanna Mangan-Lawrence in X (much appreciated...)
3. Autumn Reeser in The Big Bang (best sex scene of the year by a mile)
4. Romola Garai in The Crimson Petal and the White (my favourite surprise of the year)
5. Emma Griffin in Offspring (favourite newcomer, just tipping out Anna McGahan)
6. Jessica Tovey in Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo (another great surprise)
7. Cariba Heine in Blood Brothers (needs bigger roles, but her nudity here was pretty nice in a terrible TV movie)
8. Anna McGahan in Underbelly Razor (great stuff from her throughout the series, but the bare breasted fight with Emily Rose Brennan was a standout)
9. Melissa George in The Slap (another decent surprise also Katherine Halliday worth a mention)
10. Juno Temple and Haley Bennett in Kaboom (two girls I've had an eye on for a while getting naked in the same film. Hooray!)
A special mention to Bárbara Goenaga from Agnosia, Nicky Whelan in Hall Pass, Emily Hampshire in Good Neighbours, Amanda Fuller in Red, White & Blue and Sharon Hinnendael quite extensive nudity from Look. And a very special mention to Nikki Aycox's glorious work in Animals, which I think is a 2009 release. And one last final mention to the amazing bikini action of Rhiannon Fish in Home and Away. Here's to more in 2012.
Speaking of bikini action in Home and Away, all of the bikini and skimpy scenes from the last 3 years of the show are now available on a separate page and there's plenty to choose from (a lot more than I thought). That page is available here.
Also, the top 2 on the 2011 list were my top predictions for the year. How 'bout that? And my favourite surprise for 2012 has already happened with Kate Beahan getting naked in Burning Man. That is going to be hard to top. I'm thinking maybe Isabel Lucas in The Wedding Party, if that ever gets released (it's been over 18 months since it's premiere). Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst in On The Road could be something...
One of these days I'll do a the best of 10 years of the site. Jesus, there's been some good stuff the last decade.
Anyway, it's the end of the world, so let's dream big for 2012. Keep enjoying the site one and all.
