Update for 20 January...
A quick one today.
And Soon The Darkness, a remake of a pretty decent 70s horror film, begins with Stephanie and Ellie (Amber Heard and Odette Yustman) cycling in Argentina. They reach a quaint little town and bunk down for the night, hoping to catch the bus the next morning, but thanks to Ellie's early morning tussle with a beau, the alarm clock is pulled out and they end up missing the bus. So, they decide to do some more sightseeing and find a spot to sunbake. They have a little tiff and Stephanie rides off, leaving Ellie sunbaking, but Stephanie has a change of heart and goes back to get Ellie, but she is not there. Stephanie finds Ellie's phone on the ground and begins to worry that Ellie has been kidnapped. She bumps into Michael, an American who has been desperately looking for his lost love who seems to have disappeared in the same way. He decides to help her, but Stephanie wants to go to the cops, but the local cop just shrugs it off as a girl going off looking for fun and she'll be back. Not convinced the cop will find anything Michael convinces Stephanie to come with him to look for Ellie. So, who can Stephanie trust? Follows the original film closely, And Soon the Darkness is a film with an interesting idea, but this version fizzles once it becomes obvious who the bad guys are. To be honest, this film needed the most dread-filled ending ever, not what actually happened and it seemed all too easy a way out. It almost goes there, but it doesn't, to it's detriment.
But lots of Amber and Odette in bikinis is a major plus.

Update for 19 January...
A quick one today.
The Children is a British horror film about two families (including Eva Birthistle and Rachel Shelley) who have gone away for a Christmas holiday. Before long it becomes apparent that something is in the air and it's starting to affect the kids, who begin to act up. At first, there's minor scrapes, but after one of the father's dies after running into a hoe while going full speed on a sled deliberately placed by one of the children, everything becomes chaotic. But, the oldies are not convinced that the kids are out to get them except for teenager Casey (Hannah Tointon). So, now, how do you stop kids from going on a killing spree? Hmmm... I was surprised by how disturbed I was by the film. I mean the killing of the kids was pretty full on, particularly the kid impaled on the door. I'm not saying that the film was at all bad, it is pretty well done, just that it's problematic... What a time to get a conscious...

Welcome To The Rileys is about Doug and Lois Riley (James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo) who's relationship has distintergrated since the death of their teenage daughter. Doug is a having an affair and Lois hasn't been out of the house since. Things change when Doug goes to New Orleans for a conference and while there, he goes to a strip club to get away from everything and meets one of the dancers calling herself Mallory (Kristen Stewart). When some workmates enter the club, Doug hastily accepts an offer of 'champagne' and goes to a back room. But, Doug doesn't want to go further, which leads to Mallory accusing him of being a cop. They later meet by chance at a cafe and after sorting things out, Doug takes Mallory home and stays overnight, but does not have relations with her even after further offers. Next morning, Doug sells his stake in his company, fixes up problems at Mallory's house and offers to stay at the house for $100 a day. Then, he calls his wife and tells her he's staying indefinitely in New Orleans. This gives Lois the impetus to get out of home and go to New Orleans and find out what's going on. And when she meets Mallory, things ain't going to be the same. Interesting tale with some pretty decent performances from three quality actors which elevate this film. Well worth a look.

Update for 13 January...
Back to capping from a DVD, I haven't done that in a while. I wonder if I can remember how to do it...
Hard Breakers is a sex comedy about two beach babes/hot chicks, Alexis and Lindsay (Cameron Richardson and Sophie Monk) who live together in a house next to the beach and who are looking for love in all the wrong places. One day, they crack onto the idea that if they acted like men do to women, they can pick up as many men as possible. So, with their binoculars and trusty surfboard in tow, they use the surfboard to knock out men they want to fuck, drag them back to their place to nurse them back to health, then sleep with them. And this works swimmingly. One day, they knock out a surf shop worker and Alexis falls in love with him. And then I'm baffled as to what happens next... Using the role reversal of the woman chasing the man is an interesting concept that isn't explored enough in cinema and this film is very blatant about it, but the movie is all over the place. Things seem to happen randomly except for when they are on the hunt and then the ending runs off the rails and hits and brick wall and just says, 'Fuck it, let's just finish the movie. We've resolved nothing, we have no point, the girls have achieved nothing and learnt nothing, let's just move on'. I'm not fussed that the film has no structure, but usually there's a reason why this is so. No reason here (well most likely, it's because of a poorly written script). Ah well, there's hot chicks in bikinis and some brief nudity and some laughs and it's all done in fun, so at least Hard Breakers has something going for it.

Update for 8 January...
Let's go with some teens running amok or something.
Twelve, narrated throughout by Kiefer Sutherland (the following takes place between 3am and 4am...) follows a group of privileged teenagers over a three day period who surround White Mike (Chace Crawford), a drug dealer whose mother just died. The seeds are sown on Thursday night when Mike's cousin Charlie is killed by drug dealer Lionel (50 Cent) who also kills a witness, who just happened to get into a fight with Mike's other friend Hunter which leads to Hunter being fingered for the two murders. At a small party at Chris's (Rory Culkin) house, Jessica (Emily Meade) finds a vial with a new drug called 'Twelve' in it, tries it out and has an amazing trip. The next day she decides to buy a $1000 worth of 'Twelve' from White Mike, which she subsequently takes all of, leaving her with no drugs and no money for the forthcoming party. White Mike is also fielding calls from Molly (Emma Roberts), a girl he grew up with and who he hides his drug dealing lifestyle from. He likes her because he reminds her of his mother (who as you remember is dead and sorely misses). Also, Chris's psychotic brother has been expelled from military school and comes home. All of this will comes to a head when Sara Ludlow, the girl everyone wants, decides to host her party at Chris's house and let's just say, it's a subtle as a sledgehammer. This is what Gossip Girl would be like if it was written by some wannabe Brett Easton Ellis, hell I'd probably watch Gossip Girl if it was like this, but this film just feels like it wants to be like something Easton Ellis would write and not forge it's own voice. I can go either way on Easton Ellis, but the imitators, I can't abide. Hell, the ending really pissed me off (minor spoiler) as the people that were killed in the massacre (yes, a massacre, you can guess from above who did it) were all the most annoying, self-obsessed supporting cast in the movie. As I said above, subtle as a sledgehammer. Then again you wouldn't expect anything less from director Joel Schumacher.
And they killed Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle. Fuck them, fuck them all...

A quick update from the horror/thriller remake Shutter.
Would you believe that there's 3 Australian actresses in this film: Rachael, Daisy and very briefly Adrienne Pickering and you have to look very closely to find her, but she's there in the photo shoot scene.
Over the next little while, I will release a bunch of HD video upgrades from previous series that I have done. It will only be available from this page and won't be advertised on the front page. So, check back every once in a while for some extra treats.
Today, I'm having another look at The Crew, mainly because of Cordelia Bugeja, an actress I've only ever seen in the long forgotten Euro horror shocker The Pool, where she flashed her breasts and got hideously murdered. Also that film is memorable for Isla Fisher's first film role outside of Australia and has a nice brief bikini scene in it. One of thses days I'll recap that movie, there are some hot ladies in it and even James McAvoy pops up.

Triple Dog is a Canadian drama about a group of girls celebrating Eve's (Alexia Fast) birthday and when things get a little boring, the game of Triple Dog Dare is suggested. This is when one of the girls in the group gets to suggest a dare for another and if the person who has to do the dare does not complete it, they have to shave their head. As the dares unfold, there is the overhanging spectre of the death of a local girl from a so-called suicide and over the night, it becomes clearer as to what actually happened. An OK film that's aimed directly at teenage girls. Would have like to have seen some sexy stuff from Brittany Robertson though, but she plays a tough talking skater girl. Ah well...

Update for 3 January...
Let's head into straight to Bluray territory.
Death Race 2 is a redundant title, as this film is a prequel to the original (like Vacancy 2). Anyway, in the same prison, weekly death matches occur between inmates who are chosen at random, but the concept is losing it's audience. Along comes Carl Lucas (Luke Goss), a wheelman who is in for committing a murder during an armed robbery gone wrong. His boss, Marcus Kane (Sean Bean, in full paycheck mode) wants him dead to remove any possibility of squealing on him. September Jones (Lauren Cohan), the host of the death matches, wants him in more ways than one, if you know what I mean and Katrina (Tanit Phoenix), just wants him period. When one of the death matches devolves into all out anarchy, the show is shut down and September Jones, still looking to deliver the ratings for her boss (Ving Rhames, ditto as Sean Bean) with the high kill factor, spies Lucas driving and devises Death Race all leading to Lucas becoming the legendary 'Frankenstein'. Bah, I didn't like the first film, so I was never gonna like this, and this film takes at least half the film before actually getting to the Death Race and as before it's all so very humourless. Death Race 2000 is such a tongue in cheek fun film that just runs with it's silly concept that the all out seriousness of these updates makes these film less watchable. Death Race should be ludicrous and lots of fun like the two Cranks.
Also, what's up with prison uniforms for the women. Push-up bras and tight low riding jeans. How can a film be serious with this as the uniform? Also, it looks like the girls aren't wearing panties under their jeans, what's up with that? Government funding cuts? Come on, they can at least afford to give the girls some panties, gee...
And what's up with a straight to Bluray film having the girl wear pasties in her sex scene. Why are they covering up? Bah, I'm done with Death Race, it's dead to me. Enjoy the caps and videos.

Update for 2 January...
Let's open 2011, the tenth year of Johnny Moronic Capturing with another look at the Essex Boys.
Bonded By Blood is a British crime film, the 3rd film about the infamous Essex Boys murders after Essex Boys and Rise of the Footsoldier (I reckon there's a 4th, someone could help me with that, I was thinking Resurrection Man but that's Irish and I think set in the 70s, correct me if I'm wrong). In prison, low level drug dealer Darren Nichols causes a scene and catches the eye of Mickey Steele and takes him under his wing. Also in prison, Mickey makes acquaintance with Pat Tate and they decide to start a drug business with Mickey bringing in the drugs and Mickey and his new acquaintances, wannabe big shots Tony and Craig. Things get tense with Pat concerned about the bad batch of drugs they are receiving from Mickey and by now Pat and Tony are coked up to the eyeball, paranoid as hell and decide with Craig to off Mickey and his cohorts. But, Mickey is suspicious of Pat and decides he is going to off Pat, Tony and Craig and does so, creating the famous image of three men murdered in a Range Rover at a farm gate in snow. Nothing new here, but as with Rise of the Footsoldier, the treatment of women is absolutely appalling and quite profane. Mercifully, the film is a good half hour shorter than Footsoldier which is an absolute mess, two lengthy films in the one experience. I can't remember much of Essex Boys outside of Alex Kingston's full frontal scene and Sean Bean (or someone else) saying cunt a lot. At least there's some good nudity from Kierston Wareing, probably her best nudity so far, although she's only very briefly in this film (and her character gets treated like shit...).
January will be a month where I'll concentrate on releasing stuff of TV shows from yore. I'm currently working my way through, in a rotating basis, Stingers series 1, The Secret Life of Us series 2, Bordertown, Secret Diary of a Call Girl series 3, Satisfaction series 3 and Tangle series 2. So look out for those soon enough.
You've probably noticed that there has been one of two bandwidth issues with the site that was started by the massive Habitación en Roma update. It is predicted to be popular, but now it's got legs, hence the problems. Also, the Newcastle update is proving to be way more popular than expected and being in HD, has added to the bandwidth. With more and more stuff to come from HD sources, there may be more problems with the generous daily limit being reached, so as usual, keep calm, breathe and wait until the site comes back up (usually only a few of hours). But, if it becomes more of a problem, which in all likelihood it will, I'll have to look for better arrangements.

I'm hoping to make the site more navigable and am implementing a very basic tag system to help find other series from you're favourite actress. It is very much under construction at the moment, you'll notice tags at the end of the post, they don't work yet (they will soon), so don't try. If you run into problems, as in you can't get to content, contact me and I'll fix it, but this shouldn't be a problem.

Stuff I'm looking out for includes Sleeping Beauty with Emily Browning apparently having an erotic awakening (hmmm... who knows?), X with Viva Bianca and Hannah Mangan-Lawrence and Melt with Rachael Taylor and Adrienne Pickering etc. etc. By the way, Kierston Wareing's in the lead at the moment...
