Update for 30 March...

I have a bunch of movies in the pile that I'm just never getting around to capping for one reason or another so with this update I finally decided to cap the 1996 Indian set romantic drama Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. The main reason I haven't capped it until now was that when I got the Bluray release of the movie back in 2019, I was disappointed to find out that it was the cut version so I just left it. I found the uncut version on Tubi a couple of years later but the quality was only DVD so again I just left it until now.

What I found when looking through the Bluray is that the makers put a phony film grain and scratches onto the picture and soundtrack so it has the look and sound of an old Bollywood movie and every time things get a bit heated in the sex scenes, the footage skips like an old grindhouse movie and that's how they show the cuts made in the movie. It's gimmicky but if you didn't know you probably wouldn't notice it. Sadly the uncut version doesn't seem to be available on Bluray and probably never will be. And you can guarantee if the movie makes it to Amazon Prime it'll be the cut version as it's always the edited versions of movie on Prime.

So below you'd find both versions of the movie with the uncut version in DVD quality. Some pretty good nudity in the movie too.

I have a few movies that take more than a day to cap, like this did, so over the next few weeks I'm going to try and finish one of them off a week. I really need to thin out this neverending pile I have.

Update for 28 March...

A bunch of new/newish Spanish movies in today's update. Didn't bother capping El Buen Patrón (The Good Boss) when it came out in 2021 as I didn't think there'd by anything to cap in it. But it recently turned up on SBS World Movies during Spanish movies week (which is the first time they've bothered showing Spanish movies except for a stray movie here and there) and I watched the movie and it turned out there's a couple of scenes of note from Almudena Amor so I've finally gotten around to cap it. She has better nude scenes in last year's La Abuela.

Update for 26 March...

Run into some dead ends lately with finding Australian movies to cap. A whole bunch of new and old movies I've watched had nothing to cap in them, particularly the new movies which has been disappointing. This is why there was a short film update last week and a very brief update the week before.

Anyway, I like a theme so here's a couple of 90s Australian movies set in Asia about the troubles of the time. Turtle Beach is a 1992 drama about a journalist (Greta Scacchi) who decides to report on the Vietnamese refugee problem in Malaysia with the help of a Chinese woman (Joan Chen) who is hoping that her own children will arrive on one of the boats one day. Love in Ambush is a 1997 political thriller about a woman (Sigrid Thornton) who goes to Cambodia to find her brother who is a soldier that has gone AWOL. There she gets caught up in local intrigue involving the Americans, the French and rebel Cambodians.

Neither movie is all that great. Turtle Beach is a bit of mess with a silly ending.

A couple of 90s movies starring Spanish actress Ariadna Gil. I swear I'd capped Segunda Piel before, I even remember seeing the movie but I can't find anything I've capped from it. Good to see Malena es un Nombre de Tango again, a movie I remember watching on SBS back in the 90s.

Update for 23 March...

Still with the 90s this time with the 1990 Charles Band freakshow horror movie Meridian. Remember watching this on late night TV back in the day and made a great companion piece with Two Moon Junction, well in that they both featuring Sherilyn Fenn nude. The movie itself is absolute nonsense, the usual stuff you'd expect from Charles Band where he'd find some European castle to shoot his nonsense. He made this one in Italy which is one of his usual haunts. Interestingly both Sherilyn and Charlie Spradling appear in David Lynch's Wild At Heart made about the same time (Charlie is also nude in that movie) which is a world away in quality from this movie.

I found the Bluray release to this movie was too dark and there wasn't much I could do without it looking bad. So I went looking around for a DVD to see how dark it is and it's slightly lighter plus it's in fullscreen so there's some shots where you see a little more.

Would love to know the story of how Sherilyn ended up in this movie considering she had a half-decent career going at the time.

Update for 22 March...

Another 90s movie this time the 1992 Spanish thriller El Beso del Sueño (Dream Kiss) starring Maribel Verdú as a small time con artist who seduces and drugs men for meagre amounts until she drugs one man on a train and finds that he has two suitcases of money which she ends up stealing. Big mistake. Always on the look out for a Maribel movie and there's plenty of great nudity and sexy stuff in this movie.

The quality of the videos below are good but there is a bit of interlacing when there's movement plus the dark green tinge scenes are fairly bad. This is because this was capped from an AI HD blow-up of a DVD that mightn't been great quality to begin with. The videos are fine, just a warning that they're not as good as usual because of the source. I'll upgrade if the movie gets a HD release but considering this movie doesn't seem to have even been released on DVD in Spain (this is from a Latin American DVD apparently), this might be the best version we'll have of the movie.

Update for 16 March...

A bunch of DVDs from the pile. Eight Days a Week, from the director of 100 Girls and 100 Women, is a shitty movie about a teenage boy who spends an entire summer on Keri Russell's front lawn desperately waiting for her to finally fall for him. The lead actor is a complete loss and wouldn't you know it he never acted again. Only reason to watch it is for the Keri Russell who the director clearly drooled over for the entire shoot.

The quality of the Jimmy Zip videos isn't great but I doubt there'll be anything better any time soon.

Update for 14 March...

The rest of the videos from Mercy and The Sadness of Sex. Plenty of further videos from Mercy which is a pretty batshit movie that could've only been made in the 90s. There's a great scene where Ellen Barkin's character has an awkward meeting with some women we don't really know and Ellen just steps up and clocks her. Turns out she dreamed the scene and that the character is the women who her ex-husband cheated on her with but it comes out of nowhere and adds a bit of fun to what a completely dour movie full of psychobabble.

A quick New Zealand Classic today from the 1979 romantic drama Sons of the Return Home about Sione (Uelese Petaia), a Samoan man living in New Zealand who falls for Sarah (Fiona Lindsay) and it follows them as they try to traverse being a mixed race couple in New Zealand, particularly with his mother who is not having it. Things become very complicated when she becomes pregnant.

Update for 5 March...

A bunch of HD redos of Australian movies in today's update.

Surprised Midnite Spares got the Bluray treatment but I guess there's a cult following and there'd have to be because it's a pretty bad movie, a car action movie where there's very little car action until the final showdown plus a surprising amount of casual (and not so casual) racism mostly done by the baddies in the movie but it's fairly persistant throughout. There's some good nudity from Playboy Playmate Amanda Dole and it looks like the movie got some kind of deal with Playboy because of her appearance in the movie. Also Gia Carides first movie looking cute as a button. I'm glad it's now in HD but I have no interest in seeing it ever again and if you want a car movie there's at least a half-a-dozen Australian movies that do it way better.

Amanda Dole only ever appeared in 4 movies, this movie, uncredited in Dead Easy (I'll have to check where she is in that movie), some sexy stuff in The Return of Captain Invincible and spends a fair chunk of Pandemonium nude.

When I capped Grievous Bodily Harm back in 2011, I capped it off the Umbrella DVD which has the original Australian version plus a workprint of the movie. There was no nudity in the original version and a number of flashes of a sex tape in the workprint. It turns out that the movie was released in American (by MGM no less) and it turns out that the American cut is actually pretty much the workprint, so much so that all my timecodes correspond exactly between the two. I have no idea why this happened but it means that I can now upgrade the videos to HD. I remember reading the movie had all sorts of problems and it's an absolute mess to watch.

Another couple of 90s French movies including an early role for Marion Cotillard in the 1996 TV movie Chloé about a teenage girl who runs away from home and after having a falling out with a bar owner who helps her out, she falls in with a man who at first enchants her before gradually getting her into prostitution and then controls her. I think this is the first pre-2000s movie I've seen of hers (not even Taxi) and she looks real young here and has a number of long nude scenes.
