Update for 28 April...

All about Georgina Cates in this update. Not so much a DVD update as I got these two movies off of Plex so they are of DVD quality if a little soft but otherwise fine. Some good nudity from Georgina in Big City Blues and plenty to cap from The Treat from Georgina plus Julie Delpy and Pamela Gidley thanks to the movie being about 3 prostitutes working at a clandestine brothel.

I think I captured all of Georgina's nude scenes now. Update for 23 April...

Being a few weeks since and Australian/New Zealand update and today's is a bit of a mish-mash of stuff I've come across recently, mostly brief stuff.

Strange how forgotten Hammers Over The Anvil is considering it stars Russell Crowe and Charlotte Rampling. Having said that, Crowe has a number of forgotten early 90s credits that pretty much nobody has seen since like The Silver Brumby (which turns up on SBS World Movies from time-to-time. Another horse movie like Hammers and is an odd, sparse family movie), The Crossing, Love in Limbo and Blood Oath. This is just another add to the list. Features a rarely seen nude scene from Charlotte Rampling which is worth a look.

Occasional Coarse Language got a bit of love locally when it was released in 1998 thanks to a push by it's distributor Village Roadshow. It was a no budget Gen-X female comedy that was all the rage at the time but watching it now and I wonder what the fuss was about. It definitely had a makeover thanks to pilfering a whole chunk of the Triple J playlist at the time but it's a very minor movie and the comedy is pretty limited. There's a strange development where the lead hits it off with her best friend's boyfriend which is resolved with an overseas trip to find herself. The cast is pretty much all unknowns although Nicholas Bishop as the housemate went on to be on a bunch of American TV. Everyone else though...

Plum Role was the second movie from Perth director Zak Hilditch (his first being The Actress) and it has a similar cast minus Caitlin Higgins, who was the best thing about that movie and a similar hateful vibe. In fact the movie is entirely hateful, the story of an actor who gets a big role that will have him to leave Perth to work in Sydney on a cop drama. Turns out he's a shitty person who treats women like garbage and one day he picks up a woman (Laura Henderson) from a bar and has sex with her but then turfs her out in the morning. She becomes pregnant which he is absolutely delighted with. He questions the fatherhood of the child and then pushes for an abortion but she wants the baby and skips the procedure. The actor gets angry and pushes her over which causes her to miscarry. No more 'pain in the arse' woman... well then her brothers come around and give him an ultimatum: they beat him up and he has to get their sister pregnant again or they call the cops on him and say goodbye to his breakout role. Guess which option he takes? Kinda tuned out on this one, the hatefulness of it is incredibly high, the misogyny is almost cartoonish and couldn't understand the point of the plot development at all. Didn't care how it turned out. Hilditch would go on to make These Final Hours and a couple of Netflix movies 1922 and Rattlesnake.

Update for 21 April...

Going through some DVDs I have. Was going to cap Lawn Dogs a while back but then I watched the Australian DVD and was surprised to see that the Angie Harmon nude scene wasn't there and replaced with Angie now wearing underwear. Looked it up and it turns out there are slightly different cuts to the movie and it turns out the Australian DVD is the censored TV cut. Very odd but I was able to get a hold of the US DVD and both versions are available below. Also in the fullscreen version of the movie we get to see a better down blouse from Kathleen that isn't seen in the widescreen version. Don't know how the Australian DVD ended up being the censored version. Very odd.

Interesting fact about the movie. Didn't realise Rank was still making movies as late as 1997. They made some pretty well-known movies in the 90s like To Die For and Heaven's Prisoners.

Also the debut of these two actresses who went on diverging paths.

Recapped the 2000 horror movie The Doorway, a terrible Roger Corman-produced movie that bafflingly has Roy Scheider turn up only to be brutally killed. Must've owed Corman a few days of work.

Finally the 1998 British young people drama GMT: Greenwich Mean Time, a movie I inexplicably keep coming across so it's time to cap it. An early movie for Oscar-nominated Chiwetel Ejiofor, who has dreadlocks and a fairly gratuitous nude scene (another early movie he starred in was 3 Blind Mice). A little bit of nudity in the movie and possibly more as it looks like Anjela Lauren Smith is not wearing any underwear in one scene. A HD version might be more conclusive.

Being stocking up on some 90s/2000s DVDs so there might be an update or two in the future.

Update for 20 April...

All about Talulah Riley in this update. Watched Bloodshot recently which got lost as it was released around the time everything shut down. Has an decent concept but it's weakness is its cartoonish action scenes, particularly the final showdown which is basically an animated movie. Anyway, Talulah plays Vin Diesel's 'wife' in the movie and has a sexy scene early on and it reminded me that I haven't capped her in quite a while (almost 8 years) so I wondered what else she'd been in, well apart from Westworld. There's some decent sexy stuff in Scottish Mussel, a movie she also wrote and directed and a brief bikini scene in Submerged.

Update for 18 April...

Finally gotten around to capping Heartbreakers, a movie that has been requested a few times over the years but every time it was requested, I couldn't find a Bluray copy of the movie. Until now. Plenty to cap from the movie but nothing close to nudity. I hadn't seen the movie before and it's not a bad movie with a few funny moments although it still can't help but end with a pretty conventional ending. Never knew that Jason Lee, Sarah Silverman and Zach Galifianakis were in the movie, the latter two are not given much to do and pretty much wasted. Ray Liotta is a lot fun in the movie, glad he came back in the second half. Also Gene Hackman is advertised as one of the stars but he's not in it that much and definitely has the minor plot in the movie. Still, it was better than I was expecting.

Update for 16 April...

X is a 2011 Australian thriller set on the streets of Sydney over one night where... Alright, there's a new movie called X and it was shot in New Zealand, a not bad horror thriller where in 1979, the cast and crew of a porn movie trick an elderly couple into allowing to film on their property, only for them to find out and they don't necessarily like that at all, so the killing begins. Some good nudity in the movie too (also in the 2011 movie).

Also there looks like there's going to a be a prequel released later in the year where (sort of a spoiler) Mia Goth reprises one of the roles she plays in the movie. Although there's very little info about it so I wonder if it is real and not just a trailer that's floating around.

Update for 5 April...

Finally gotten around to capping Killing Me Softly, a movie that's been requested a few times, so it's finally time to cap it. There seems to be a fullscreen version of the movie available on the out-of-print American DVD which shows some brief full frontal nudity from Heather, so I'll keep a look out for it. Speaking of fullscreen DVDs, I've capped the fullscreen version of the movie I Want You. It shows a little bit more but looking at the HD widescreen version I capped, it's both cleaner and seems to show more in the wider shots.

Update for 3 April...

Another case of a series taking too long to cap, so it gets released on the Sunday. Also, this wasn't the movie I was looking for, it was actually a movie called Leonora which turns out to be produced by the guy who made this, so I was in the same ball park. Plenty of nudity in this movie nonetheless.

Fantasy is a 1990 erotic drama where university student Jenny (Clare Chilton) is in a loveless marriage with her soon-to-be doctor husband Rod (Campbell MacPherson) so she placates herself by having an affair with English lecturer Linda (Jane Darley-Jones). Jenny tells Linda of her fantasy man who she saw in a photo in a magazine and it turns out to be a middle-aged man which Linda thinks Jenny can do better when it comes to fantasy men. A guest lecturer arrives at the university and Linda drags Jenny along to it and the guest lecturer turns out to be her fantasy man. Jenny is shocked and acts weirdly trying to avoid him but also constantly looking at him until he comes over and introduces himself as psychiatric doctor Dr. Quentin Doland (Colin Borgonon) and she tells him that he's a pretentious bore. He asks her to come back to his hotel room to 'fuck her brains out'. And... she does. Over the next month, the two enact out her sexual fantasies and then she reciprocates with wanting to act out his fantasies but he tells her he needs a week to prepare.

A week later, Jenny turns up at a remote country house to start her month with Quentin but she is greeted by the 'mistress' of the house (Maha Hindi) who tells her that she's to be a maid for the doctor and is made to wear a provocative uniform. Then the doctor seems to ignore her as the lesbian cook (Julia Binns) and the slow-witted gardener (Brendan Strahan) harass her relentlessly. When he is around, the doctor treats her like a maid and flirts relentlessly with the other maid (Elizabeth Stewart) and Jenny's not having this and confronts him. He placates her and then invites her to read his diary, which seems to be about events that are to happen the next day. Jenny decides to continue the 'fantasy' but she is struggling with the harassment and sexual frustration until Linda arrives to take part but Jenny doesn't seem to recognise her. Things escalate when the mistress sacks the cook then the gardener rapes Jenny and they replace the gardener with her husband Rod, who she also doesn't seem to recognise. It turns out that the doctor has been running an experiment on Jenny and his 'help' are fellow psych doctors who are helping him. Things take a turn for the worse when the doctor writes a final diary entry that predicts her death. Will Jenny survive this wretched 'sexual fantasy'.

Bizarre movie where it's billed as a sex movie and despite quite a bit of sex and nudity, is really more of a psychological thriller gone wrong. There's an interesting idea here but the movie is walking a line between soft core erotica and psychological thriller and always ends up on the side of erotica preferring to only have a fairly simplistic look at the psychological side of things. Plus the ethics of this experiment is highly suspect and then completely fucked when one of the help/doctors rapes Jenny. This is not helped by the ludicrous development where only after a few days of the experiment, Jenny can't even recognise her lover or husband when they inexplicably join in the frivolity. At least Linda has a problem with the ethics of the experiment but she still joins in and gets her fill. Rod is a complete dope, so 'glad' he's becoming a doctor. I can't get over why she married Rod as she tells Linda that she's never loved him. It also turns out that Jenny is an awful person who does a lot of whinging, so watching her descent into 'madness' isn't a lot of 'fun'. For a movie that clearly markets itself as an erotic movie, it sure goes to a very strange direction. Plus the sex and nudity, while plentiful, is all very mild where the only nudity is women breasts and only in brief bursts. You see more in something like Fifty Shades of Grey. An odd, poorly formed movie.

The videos below are from a VHS rip of the movie so the quality is down but it's actually not-too-bad except for one video where there's some brief extreme tracking issue but it's not a big issue. Otherwise, it's about as good as we're likely to get as this movie is long in the forgotten category and barely got released although it seems to have had a British release on VHS. The director had previously made the 1982 lost movie Early Frost, although he is not credited as director (no-one is) and later went on to make the 1998 shot but finally finished in 2016 movie Reflections which stars Kym Wilson, Roxane Wilson (no relation) and Vanessa Dowling. I also watched it, it was previously on YouTube but seems to have been deleted but I got a copy a few years ago. Nothing to cap and it's an overwrought psychological thriller about a woman coping with her demons during a storm that is threatening to turn into a flood, so it's very bombastic and more than a little silly, like Fantasy is. The director is also listed as directing porn movies but I have no idea about those.
